Law & Order: Criminal Intent gets renewed for another 16 episodes

USA Network ordered 16 additional episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent which has moved its production headquarters to the new NBC U Cable Studio. The network and U Media Studios are working out new deals with the regular cast members for the eighth season including Vincent D'Onofrio, Chris Noth, Eric Bogosian, Julianne Nicholson and Kathryn Erbe along with showrunner Warren Leight.

That's good news for Law & Order: CI fans. And its also interesting that NBC Universal now has a studio for their cable shows.

These sixteen will make up the entirety of season eight.

My guess is that we'll see these eps on NBC come January 2009

As of two weeks ago, last fall's CI episodes have been running on NBC Saturdays at 9pm EDT/PDT. I don't know if the schedule has changed for the summer.

I think when the main series started in January, on Wednesdays at 10 ET, they started showing the USA eps on NBC right before the new eps of the main series on Wednesdays at 9 ET. I don't know how many they showed though.
