Judgment Day (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=210973) saw ECW stars compete for a SmackDown championship and that championship, the WWE Tag Team Championship, remains in the possession of John Morrison & The Miz with their win over ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk.

May 20, 2008

WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison retained their gold on Sunday at Judgment Day, defeating ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk in Omaha, Neb. The Big Red Monster and Mr. Money in the Bank put forth a valiant effort, but will return to the Land of the Extreme without Tag Team gold. Kane chokeslammed The Miz outside of the ring, but moments after, Morrison delivered a devastating Moonlight Drive to Punk to pick up the win.

Now that The Miz & Morrison have retained their gold, have they seen the last of Kane and Punk? Or will the ECW Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank continue to seek the WWE Tag Team Championship?

ECW’s "Gold Standard", Shelton Benjamin, is determined to end Kofi Kingston’s undefeated streak. During an altercation on Tuesday, Kingston wished Benjamin good luck, and then leveled the Gold Standard. Will Benjamin use Kofi's attack to fuel himself to a win over the Jamaican Superstar? Or will the Kingston outshine the "Gold Standard" in their match and continue his undefeated streak?

Also on ECW on Sci Fi, Colin Delaney experienced a difficult first night as an official member of the active ECW roster. He picked up two brutal losses, one to Mike Knox, the other to ECW General Manager Armando Estrada. Well, at least the youngster had his own entrance music!

How will Delaney handle the Land of the Extreme? Will the youngster find his way back to the winner’s circle, or will he once again be the punching bag of his fellow ECW Superstars? Will Knox continue to beat on Delaney, or will Tommy Dreamer emerge by the youngster’s side? And now that Estrada is an active member of the ECW roster, how will the GM’s strong presence affect Delaney?

To find out the answers to these questions and more, tune into Tuesday’s ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT. Also, be sure to catch ECW in its entirety every week on WWE.com, available from Wednesday to the following Monday afternoon.

While Post is a breakfast cereal company, CW Post is a college in Long Island which I may have been interested in attending at one time. Foley would've done a better job with that instead of dumb tazz.

Im guessing Big Show will win the cane match. He's still showing signs of rapid-fire turning with him attacking faces and heels.

Overall, Not a memorable show.

You know that could be spun into a shot at The CW for axing Smackdown

Heels won most of the matches. Again. As long as you have a novice in the fat dancing guy (Chris DeJoseph, aka Big Dick Johnson) running things at the moment, you're going to have bad booking.

Two weeks in a row Armando Estrada books an instant squash vs. Colin Delaney. This abuse of power needs to be stopped RIGHT NOW. We can't have this continue any longer. How is Colin going to "grow", if you will, if Estrada refuses to give him fair matchups, then picks up the scraps every time Colin gets beaten up?

Why book Miz over Kane? Because he's a TV star, and Crazy Vinnie is a mark for putting celebrities over established wrestlers.

The cane match is now a 5-way, and an easy way to get Big Show into the mix for the title. Note how he was like, "nothing personal, just business" after chokeslamming Dreamer. He's a tweener this time around. He'll get face pops if he can punish Estrada.

I'll reference some of Adamle's comments in my post replies, but I found it hilarious when Tazz was picking on for "CW Punk" and then Adamle asked if he could get a word in edgewise! The guy who sits there quietly half the time is asking Tazz if he can get a word in! Go ahead, Adamle, no one's stopping you!!

Anyway, Miz did beat Kane just like he said. Sure didn't look like a winner though. Lucky for him, Morrison ensured he didn't end up a total loser of the war.

And the dark cloud of an directionless undefeated record has been lifted from Kofi Kingston. Good match to get us there and now Kofi can really get into feuds without having to have a .1000 record to be protected.

I actually didn't mind Adamle's likely fake conversation with Estrada that he was picking on Colin Delaney because he could. It defines it a little bit, but of course I'd like to hear from the man himself.

Wow, that RAW Rebound was long. I guess the show was short and there was a lot to cover.

The tag match wasn't anything to special although when you get quality guys in there (plus Tommy Dreamer who Adamle tried to portray like he was from the Hogan/Flair era with all his compliments that he can still go) it can't be all bad. Looks like Big Show is all the way back on the SmackDown/ECW roster now (along with the Alka-Seltzer mascot (http://www.wwe.com:80/superstars/smackdown/alkaseltzerspeedy/)).

That was Adamle's only flub BTW, he's slowly improving again. Not sure if you're joking at all or not, but I disagree. Saying Kane was coming off the "third rope" and using "tapping off" twice in the main event tag match certainly count. Not to mention his referencing Miz's aura as being 'so cool it can be felt from outer space.'

Why book Miz over Kane? Because he's a TV star, and Crazy Vinnie is a mark for putting celebrities over established wrestlers. While certainly The Miz was on The Real World and various competitions involving "reality stars" I think the guy has worked hard enough and proven himself as a professional wrestler to not to have his wins compared to Floyd Mayweather beating Big Show or Lawrence Taylor beating Bam Bam Bigelow.

Looks like Big Show is all the way back on the SmackDown/ECW roster now...Don't be so sure... news sites are reporting that they're doing away with heat tapings and will now do ECW before Raw instead, hoping an influx of Raw talent might help the ratings. Of course, I wonder if you won't see a draft as a result, since ECW/Smackdown are so intermixed now.
