The unedited Tenchi Muyo! is superb (in my opinion), so the CN version can hardly compare. I love Tenchi Muyo!, but the way CN treats it wants to make me barf.

[indent]While it definitely is too edited for Adult Swim, if you look at it as the Toonami version there is not really anything edited out that effects the story at all. Compared to a lot of other edited shows Tenchi turned out pretty good. While some of the stuff edited out is quite funny, most of it is not essential to the show. The only edit I can think of that might be considered important would be the conversation with Dr. Clay and Washu in episode 12. The editors must also be given some credit for allowing two of the episodes to run long as originally intended.
