http://library.toonzone.net/talkbacks/kidswb.jpg: THE END

I felt this was significant since we're dealing with the end of a well-known brand here.

So, after 13 long and wonderful years, we have to bid farewell to Kids WB. The block, over the years, brought us what will be remembered for years as some of the greatest cartoons to come out of the 90's and even the 00's. It could even be argued that, without Kids WB, Toon Zone would not exist as it is today.

And so, the curtain draws to a close on the only remaining fragment of 90's Saturday Morning programming. While CW4Kids is just on the horizon, we must first say our goodbyes to the home of the Warners, the DCAU, X-Men Evo, Xiaolin Showdown, Freakazoid, Earthworm Jim, Jackie Chan Adventures, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and many other series we cherished for so long.

Here is the final KWB schedule:

7.0 - Will & Dewitt : "The Long March/Small Potatoes"
7.5 - Magi-Nation : "The Shadow You Know"
8.0 - Skunk Fu! : "The Art of Brainwashing/The Art of Turtle Watching"
8.5 - Tom and Jerry Tales : "You're Lion/Kangadoofus/Monkey Chow"
9.0 - Tom and Jerry Tales : "Game of Mouse and Cat/Babysitting Blues/Catfish Folly
9.5 - Spectacular Spider-Man : "Natural Selection"
10.0 - Spectacular Spider-Man : "Persona" (NEW)
10.5 - World of Quest: "Fall of Oddyssia Part 1/Fall of Oddyssia Part 2" (NEW)
11.0 - Johnny Test: "Johnny X and the Attack of the Snowmen/Johnny vs Dukey"
11.5 - Eon Kid: "The 18 Woodenmen"

Discuss.

Yeah, me too.

I woke up early and recorded the entire final broadcast of Fox Kids back in 2002, so it'd only be fitting for me to do the same with the other block I grew up with...:crying:

I guess I should pay my tributes:

Farewell, KidsWb. You had some truly great shows in your prime, and it was a fun ride while it lasted.

To think I spent most of my teen years watching this channel, its almost like its become part of my childhood. KidsWB, you have my respect.

man... I mean I don't like the current state of WB saturday mornings at all. But I woke up to his channel every weekend when I was younger. They did have some of the greatest cartoons in history like Batman The Animated Series, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons and freakazoid. And some good shows I liked like xiaolin showdown. And helped the Pokemon Franchise. It's a darn shame. R.I.P KWB

Wow, along time and now it ends? Ok.....
So I'm lousey at saying good bye with stuff. Um, you were a blast while we had you and now your gone. I'm not going to say I'll miss you since you'll just get replaced by some thing else but I will say that you were um great??

So what now?

(and now a word from garfield15)

**cough**cough**

ahem...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. WHY WHY WHY MUST EVERY CHILDHOOD MEMORY DISAPPEAR. First it was Foxkids, then it was Toonami (when it was on everyday), then it was Miguzi, then it was Pokemon's original voices, and now, now its gone. IT'S ALL GONE.

All we have left are those recorded episodes on tape from all those years ago.

Haven't watched the block much since the days of Freakazoid and Earthworm Jim, (stuck around a little for Pokemon though) but it was a blast and fond memories of all the WB cartoons it had!

Nuts. The day has arrived, sooner than I had hoped. It's the end of not only one of the best children's programming blocks ever, but also the end of a television staple going back to its dawn in the 50's. 4Kids and other tripe nobody watches doesn't count.

All the Grim Reaper needs now is Toonami to complete his collection (just wait a few days, he'll get to it).

But it's not over yet. ;)

You'll just have to wait a few days to find out what that hint meant. Keep checking a certain site for more.

Well, so long, Kids WB. You were really good to me in my pre-teen/teen years. You were the only reason I'd get up at 6:00 AM on Saturdays, so I wouldn't miss a single show on your block. You were THAT good. In your later years, you haven't been that great, with few gems and only about 2 or 3 shows I would watch.

Either way, a good chunk of my Saturdays were well spent with you, so farewell.

The block had a GREAT run from 1995-1999. I lost interest after that. But, anyway, Kids WB was one of the greats and ALSO one of the last network run Saturday mornings blocks. End of an era indeed.

So...this is it, huh? THE last staple of Saturday Morning TV is finally coming to an end.

...........

WHYYYYYYY! Why must our childhood come to an end so fast?! :crying: Farewell, KidsWB. Even when Saturday Mornings were in its decline, you never failed to deliver your strongest. These last few Saturdays, the only block I watched was you. Since I don't have cable or satellite right now, I'm sorry I won't be able to view the finale block tomorrow morning.

Right now, I'm having a hard time thinking of the right words, but all I really have to say is this:

You've brought us some great shows, great childhood years, and we will never (repeat: NEVER) forget you.

RIP KWB 1994-2008. :(

I didn't know they were ending Kids WB as of *today*; is 4Kids is taking over as of next week?

Either way, so long to the lineup that made me stick around (what eventually became) Toonzone for quite a few years... even if I think it faltered once the Pokemon-onslaught (and other similar knockoff series) came down the pike, and its Recycled Stock Footage promos ranged from merely cheesy to downright hideous, I'm glad it was around for TNBSA, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, etc.

And now, looks like the last non-E/I Saturday morning lineup of interest (4Kids? *please*) is dead, and with it goes a tradition going back to the 1960s... *sigh*... more time to sleep in on Saturdays for kids, I'd imagine...

Another part of my childhood, fading away.:crying: Farewell, Kids WB.

I hate the fact that I'm expecting no recaps of anything or any kind of closure, but that's the animation business on the whole.

Thank you for bringing Saturdays back for me, after ABC broke my heart by selling its soul, and hanging in for as long as you did.

Boy, was I naive for expecting at least SOME kind of send off. You know, even a quick 30 second spot during the credits of Eon Kid quickly running through some clips of classic KWB footage and a "farewell" graphic at the end. I wasn't expecting what The WB! did, but even a very cheap montage of older promos would be better than nothing.

Well, whatever. Just goes to show that what we're losing today isn't the Kids WB! we all remember, and how quickly they killed off Kids WB! even long before 4Kids actually takes over programming is proof nobody in charge really cares.

Back in November 2007,when Freakazoid was annouced for Release on Dvd in 2008,I started having A strange feeling that before Freakazoid came out on Dvd,that Kids WB! would End and get the Axe.

I also knew the exact day Freakazoid was going to be Annouced it was coming out on Dvd 7 days before it was leaked out,and I also guessed the Release of the Dvd,when my friends also said it will be in December 2008,I told them no it will be Late July 2008.

Even when my friends keep saying that The Cw 4 Kids (as it would be known later) would be Arriving in September 2008,and that Kids WB! would be Ending in September 2008 to. I kept telling them that it will be May 2008 sometime, and not in September 2008.

It just kept coming to my Spirit over an over, that Kids WB! would End in Mid May 2008,an try as I do to think its just me and not something divine telling me,I am proving wrong again, as it has in the past an the feeling in my Spirit proved right.

Its just a gift I have to know things like this when it comes to Cartoons,Cartoon blocks,Cartoon stations Ending,Changing over to another name, going from 12 hours to 24 hours, or them getting Axed,Canned ect.

I have it for quite sometime, but didn't think nothing of it at 1st. but now it is getting more and more accurate with each feeling I have,im sure that there is some others out there that have the same Gift to as well.

Also I am feeling the same way about another Cartoon block going away, and A cartoon station changing over without warning an notice to the public,
but I will have to see what come about of this feeling, remember Im still learning how to understand the Gift I have, dont want it to be any feeling
of myself, only the Divine gift feeling, attaining.

Good bye KIds WB! I will remember you always, for the Golden Cartoon Years, and the Good and Bad years, the sad and lean years, an for the Great cartoon Revolution of Cartoon Greats such As The Classic shorts Of Looney Toons, Freakazoid,EarthWorm Jim,Road Rovers,Animaniacs,InvasionAmerica,

Why's everyone treating this like some kind of funeral

When I lived overseas, one of the things I looked forward to when I went back to the States for vacation was Kids WB!

But unlike most people here, I'm used to lose. Be it the big things or small things. Programming blocks change names and get thrown out all the time. It happens.
Heck, I don't even get Kids WB in this town.

I didn't really expect anything of the sort. Though, that Magi-Nation sweepstakes was kinda neat. Kids' WB has always been well-known for their contests, so it was kind of nice to do that for the kids on the final broadcast.

UPDATE: So, I said that my cable/satellite was no more, right? Well, I got up this morning and decided to see if CW would come on our outside regular TV. It did...

And, boy, none of the execs do care. As soon as Eon Kid was off and a regular network show started airing immediately after that, I'm thinking, "That's IT??? No homage clip, no farewell video, nada?"
I should also note that today I saw the "Kids WB turns into CW4Kids" for the very first time. Ironic, isn't it?
How could those folks want everyone to be so hyped up that 4Kids is coming ("More new episodes of your favorite shows! More new adventures! More FUN!" :D) and yet not do some kind of tribute to KWB and all the glory years it has endured??? I think SU182 put it best...this final broadcast was anticlimatic.

On the other hand, it's not really the end; all or most of the current KWB shows are still going to be on CW4Kids (I saw two commercials which proved they kept Tom and Jerry Tales! Yay!:anime:)So, it's still Kids WB, just under a much different name than we're accustomed to.

Sigh. But still...RIP Kids WB. :crying:

Well, a lot of people have great childhood memories of watching programs on Kids' WB and knowing that this is the final broadcast of the block before it gets renamed. I'm glad that their block at least has its own website, but it still is pretty sad. However, I do see where you're coming from with the level of sadness that most of the posts here, but I obviously understand those sad feelings as well.

With that being said, I also feel a bit sad at the last broadcast of Kids' WB, but I don't think that I'm as sad about it as some other people. I completely lost interest in the block once they got rid of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, the latter being more understandable since it had just finished its last season. Anyway, I do remember enjoying coming home from school to watch their cartoons like The New Adventures of Batman and Superman and then the glorious hour of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! back-to-back. Man, I loved it when they did that. They had some excellent shows on Saturday mornings as well for so many years that I could watch through while waiting for Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! to air.

Clearly, I have some nostalgic feelings towards the block, but the fact that I lost touch with it for a couple of years or so weakens my reaction to their final broadcast. Besides that, I'm looking foreword to fall anyway to see some of the new series and seasons of shows that sound really interesting. While I'm still a bit sad about this whole thing, at least they are having a new Saturday morning block instead of just playing infomercials all through the morning.

As I understand it (though I could be wrong), 4Kids isn't actually programming the network yet, the Kids' WB! folks are just changing the name early in order to ease into it. So, technically everything behind the scenes is still the same at least until September when 4Kids actually takes over, meaning whatever schedule we have for the next several weeks is no indication of what the real CW4Kids will be this fall.

In otherwords, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Or... something like that...

Yeah, that's a good point. I was EXTREMELY sad and depressed when Fox Kids ended, because I was still interested in quite a few shows on there (Digimon, Medabots, Mon Colle Knights, Galidor, and Wild Force). But for Kids WB, once Pokemon left, my interest gradually died down to the point of where all I was bothering to tune in for was The Batman (plus Legion during season 2, and Spider-Man and World of Quest have given me a reason to stick around).

I'll post my full thoughts once my CW affiliate airs the final two hours on Sunday morning (yeah, it's screwy that Connecticut does that, but it at least keeps it alive one more day).

Farewell, Kids WB, it was nice knowing you and your Animaniacs!

So as of next week FOX and CW will have 4 Kids channels with FOX to lose the 4 Kids rights in Fall 2009 and possibly put in its place a 3 hour E/I kids block (Cookie Jar shows, anyone?) preceeded by a FOX NEWS SATURDAY newscast to go head to head with ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA SATURDAY, NBC's SATURDAY TODAY, and CBS's SATURDAY EARLY SHOW.

I didn't grow up with KidsWB. The block started when I was a junior in high school. And while I liked Freakazoid I only really tuned in for Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. So that means by the end of 1998 I had pretty much stopped watching whatever little bit of the morning block I actually watched. I didn't give the block a second thought until Tom and Jerry Tales started. And then I only tuned in for that one show. Actually, I just DVR'd it. Sleep was more important. :D

Since YouTube's terms of use say the site is not intended for people under 13 to use, KWB wouldn't even have a profile in the first place.

This account IS fake, since one of the clips is called "KidsWB Toonami: Hodgepodge of Clips", which is the SAME title as one of the videos on Toonami Digital Arsenal and has the same exact clips.

Either that or Warner is acting extremely unprofessional.
