I could be way off here, and I don't have any evidence to support this, but I *believe* Aquaman will end up being more of a team player in the second (third?) season of Justice League.

I like the JL just the way it is; but, like a basketball team, I wouldn't mind it if the JL had a "bench team" of members it could call up individually, when needed. In other words, you could also think of them as "hornorary" JL members. :D
The Justice League
Starters
----------
-Superman
-Batman
-Wonder Woman
-Green Lantern (John Stewart)
-Flash
-Martian Manhunter
-Hawkgirl
Bench
--------
-Aquaman (when something's brewing in Earth's oceans)
-Dr. Fate (when something majorly bad in the magic/gods deptartment comes up)
-Green Lantern (Kyle Rainer) (when John Stewart is busy and the JL needs a GL member)
-Hawkman (when Hawkgirl's not available)
-Nightwing (when Batman's not available)
What does everyone else think about my "bench players" idea? It would keep the original JL intact, and allow these cool characters to come in periodically without becoming full-fledged members.
Later!

I like the members they have but I really wish Batman was a full timer, and I wish Steel and Plastic Man were also in the team. And I think Hawkman should at least make a guest appearance.

Ive given this one a lot of thought (and posted ideas about it before so bear with me if you've heard my personalized JL idea before) and my perfect Justice league would be...
1. Batman
2. Superman
...who would be co-leaders then...
3. Rogue.
4. Green Lantern (kyle rayner)
5. Spider-Man
6. Iceman (my all time favorite superhero i might add)
7. and Marvel Girl (Valeria Richards of Chris Claremonts recent take on Fantastic 4... which I loved with a passion.)
And lots and lots of guest stars including Captain America, the Fantastic Four, several X-Men, Batgirl, Dr. Fate, Flash and more.
And the villains Id use would be Joker, Dr. Doom, Darkseid, Red Skull, Magneto, The Skrulls, Mystique, Mr. Mxyzptlyk and Bat-Mite, Brainiac, Lex, Sabretooth, as many of Batman's foes as I could get away with and more...
Whenever Ive been bored in classes ive written up episode synopsi for my fictitious-never-gunna-happen-in-this-lifetime show... alas...

I know I already posted my league but like ive said Ive given this question a lot of thought in the past and heres the character bios I wrote up months ago.

Name: Rogue
Secret ID: None
Powers/Abilities: Rogue possesses the ability to absorb another persons powers/abilities and memories for a certain period of time. Aside from her ability to absorb she has also permanently gained super speed, super strength, invulnerability, flight, and retractable razor sharp claws.
History: Due to the massive amount of memories Rogue has absorbed she remembers very little about her childhood, not even her original name. What is known is that her mutant absorption powers manifested during her first kiss at about age 13 or 14, putting her boyfriend in a coma. She became a runaway and was eventually taken in by the shape-shifting terrorist Mystique who trained her in the use of her abilities. After stealing the powers and memories of the mutant vigilante Ms. Marvel, Rogue left the Brotherhood of Mutants and sought the help of Professor Charles Xavier to control her new abilities and suppress the memories of Ms. Marvel. Rogue went on to become a high ranking X-Man, and has, under the guidance of Prof. X, mastered her control of absorbing the powers of others, although she still is incapable of flesh to flesh contact.

Name: Superman
Secret ID: Clark Kent
Powers/Abilities: Due to his unique Kryptonian physiology Superman can absorb yellow sunlight and use it to trigger unique superhuman abilities. He has incredible super strength, speed, stamina, and invulnerability. He also possesses the ability to fire beams of intense heat from his eyes, see through most opaque objects (excluding those composed of lead,) and generate intense wind and cold from his breath. Due to Krypton’s unusually high center of gravity, Superman has the ability to float effortlessly in the atmosphere of planets with lesser gravity.
History: Kryptonian Infant Kal El was blasted off into space towards the nearby planet of Earth moments before the destruction of his own planet. There he was adopted by James and Martha Kent and raised in Smallville, Kansas as a normal human child under the name of Clark Kent. As he grew older he gradually grew stronger, faster, and in general more powerful, and vowed to use his new abilities for the good of others. As an adult he moved to the city of Metropolis and worked as a journalist for the Daily Planet. There he realized how much good he could truly do and decided to don the alter ego of Superman so as not to compromise his Earthling identity. As Superman he fights for truth, justice, and the American way, and travels wherever the pursuit of Justice calls him, be it his home city of Metropolis or the dangers of deep space.

Name: Spider-Man
Secret ID: Peter Parker
Powers/Abilities: Spider-Man possesses the comparative speed, strength, and agility of a spider. He can stick to most surfaces through the use of intense static cling. He also possesses a “Spider Sense” which serves as a mild psychic warning of any form of danger. Aside from these physical features he also possesses a vast array of instinctive knowledge that aids him in defense, offense, escape, and a spider’s innate ability of how to make and manipulate webbing. As Peter Parker, Spidey also possesses an incredible scientific and mathematical mind that allows him to create a variety of gadgets to help him on his mission to fight evil.
History: High school outcast Peter Parker’s life forever changed on a science field trip when during an experiment on genetic enhancement a radioactively charged spider bit him, injecting its tainted venom into his bloodstream. After a bout of incredible pain, Peter discovered that he was left with amazing powers. Initially he attempted to use these abilities for personal profit, but upon the murder of his Uncle Ben by a criminal he could have stopped but chose not to, he learned the harsh lesson that with great power there must also come great responsibility. Since then Peter has had to balance his life of scouring the streets of New York for criminals, his responsibilities as star photographer of the Daily Bugle, and his love for his wife Mary Jane.

Name: Batman
Secret ID: Bruce Wayne
Powers/Abilities: Young Bruce Wayne traveled the Earth and mastered all forms of the martial arts. He studied under the greatest escape artists, graduated the most respected universities with highest honors, and virtually perfected his mind and body. Using his vast fortune he also can fund the creation of his various types of sophisticated gadgetry and vehicles. Batman possesses a keen scientific mind, unparalleled detective skills, and a demeanor and attitude that instantly strikes terror in the hearts of criminals. His headquarters “The Batcave” contains anything and everything that Bruce could possibly need in his war on crime and corruption, and his utility belt has the answer to virtually any problem he might face in the field in at least one of its pouches. Aside from his unparalleled arsenal of gadgets, and vehicles, his vast repertoire of knowledge, and his peak physical perfection, Batman also has established for himself a vast array of connections that aid him in the few situations that might be out of his league of expertise.
History: When he was nine years old, Bruce Wayne witnessed the murder of his parents and was scarred for life. He vowed revenge and traveled the world to become the ultimate vigilante. After nearly being killed his first night out, he realized he needed an edge. Like a strange omen, a bat came crashing through the window of his study and inspired him with the perfect image to strike terror in his victims. Donning the cape and cowl of the Dark Knight he vowed to rid the streets of Gotham City of crime and corruption. With his small band of close friends and family Bruce keeps a 24 hour watch on Gotham while maintaining his status as socialite and head of Wayne Enterprises.

Name: Marvel Girl
Secret ID: Valeria Richards
Powers/Abilities: Valeria’s true potential is possibly limitless. She has control over phenomenal cosmic forces that allow her to perform amazing feats. She has displayed the ability to increase her speed and stamina well beyond that of a normal human, manifest a powerful invisible force field, and possesses incredible psychic potential that allows her to read minds, and occasionally see into the future. Aside from her innate cosmic powers, Valeria is a scientific and technical genius with an knack for creating incredibly sophisticated devices with the greatest of ease.
History: Originally the still born daughter of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four, Valeria’s mind and soul was saved by her equally as powerful older brother. With the help of the cosmic entity Roma, Franklin placed Valeria into an alternate future where Reed Richards ruled the country of Latveria in the guise of the evil Dr. Doom. Because in this world it was of utmost importance that Dr. Doom be alive to keep his generals and followers in check, Valeria’s parents could not tell her the real identity of her father, therefore she was raised to believe that Dr. Doom was her biological father.
At age 15 however, Valeria’s powers flared immensely and she was drawn back to the dimension and time of her birth. She has since found a home on Earth Prime with her family the Fantastic Four, and her older (physically younger) brother Franklin.

Name: Green Lantern
Secret ID: Kyle Rayner
Powers/Abilities: With the ring of the Green Lantern, Kyle can create incredibly powerful photonic constructs that take on the shape and form of anything his imagination can perceive. Clever and artistic by nature, Kyle wields the rings power like no other green lantern has before him, often finding incredibly creative and unique solutions to problems.
History: Young aspiring artist Kyle Rayner received the ring and title of Green Lantern, guardian of Earth and all of space within sector 2814 by a simple twist of fate. Insecure about the haphazardness of his own origin, Kyle soon sought the advice of the Guardians, keepers of the Green Lanterns‘ power source. Convincing them that he was not yet ready for such responsibility Kyle stepped down and was replaced with the more experienced John Stewart. But, as various problem’s throughout the galaxy became out of hand, the Guardians needed all the help they could get. John Stewart was transferred to a different sector and Kyle stepped up once again to protect the Earth.

Name: Iceman
Secret ID: Robert Drake
Powers/Abilities: Iceman possesses the mutant ability to manipulate ice and cold by freezing the moisture in the air. Using this ability he can create a wide variety of super hard molecularly dense ice weapons and structures. He also possessed the ability to freeze the moisture in his body putting him into a form of organic ice. In this form he if highly invulnerable to physical assault and can rearrange his molecules to enhance his strength and take on a variety of useful forms.
History: When he was 14 Bobby’s mutant powers manifested in a fight with a local bully. Accidentally flash freezing the boy, Bobby created a hysteria in his home town that landed him at the mercy of a lynch mob. The intervention of Cyclops and Prof. X, however, saved his life. The professor convinced him to develop his powers at his school. There he trained hard and developed his abilities to become one of the five original X-Men. Always the rash and impulsive class clown, Bobby frequently abandoned the X-Men, until the day Emma Frost, the powerful telepathic White Queen, took over his body and showed him his true potential. After learning how much more he had to learn Bobby became more dedicated to the further development of his abilities and practically mastered his ice powers.
While he’ll always be a childish goofball by nature, Iceman knows how to get serious when necessary and has become one of the most powerful mutants on Earth.

Hmm....since we seem to be spreading out of the DCU my picks have changed.
1) Superman - the essential hero, no JL team is complete without him
2) Dark Claw - an Almagalm of Batman and Wolverine - the worlds greatest detective and the best he is at what he does
3) Iron Lantern - another Almagalm - the brillance of Tony Stark and the power of the Lantern Corps.
4) X-Man - the most powerful telepath in the Marvel U, he could give J'onn and Jean Grey a run for their money, at the same time!
5) Wonder Woman/Thor - still the second most powerful hero in the DCU and an established DCU member she would even more powerful with Thor's hammer (see the DC vs Marvel crossover)
6) Aztek - one of the most underrated JLA members ever, he had super strength, x-ray vision and flight and was the chosen savior of his race
7) Amazon - an Amalgalm of Storm and Wonder Woman - incredibly strong and has the ability to control the weather
8) Joseph - the 'clone' of Magneto that served with the X-Men for a long time - has all of Mags powers and wants to atone for 'his' past sins
9) Cosmic Spider-Man - this incarnation of Spider-Man could easily give Supes a run for his money and he would be the comedy relief for the team
Reserves:
1) Namor - the king of Atlantis, nuff said!
2) Supreme - if the Man of Steel goes down for the count, better get the guy that is basically his mirror-Image
3) Gladiator - the Shi'ar's Imperial Guard's captain - knows how to handle a fight and would provide a lot of extra power
4) Hawkeye - worlds greatest archer, nuff said.
5) Rogue - has the ability to absorb other mutants powers and perhaps the most powerful mutant ever
6) Captain America - he could serve as field leader whenever Superman is to busy to be there
7) Static - when the situation arrises Static could be as powerful as Magneto and could provide that extra 'spark' to turn the tide in favor of this JL
8) X-O Manowar - powerful alien armor and a knowledge of many alien species
Those are my picks, let me know what you think!
-Joe!

In the belief that less can indeed be more, I would keep the team limited to seven. First I'd fill a void in the team that some others have mentioned, magic. I'd prefer Zatana over Dr. Fate simply to be adding another lady to the group (yes, I'm a pervert who would prefer to see a lovely young lady instead of a full-faced helmet wearing man).
As to which character to dismiss, I would bid farewell to the Flash on the grounds of power duplication. Yes, he is faster that any of the other (even Superman), but there are others with super speed. As far as I know the only thing he can do that the others can't duplicate with their super speed is his ability to vibrate through to other dimensions. Now don't get me wrong, I like the Flash it's just that he is the least unique of all the members of the team.
So I would have:
Superman
Green Lantern
J'onn J'onzz
Wonder Woman
Hawkgirl
Batman
Zatana
Spider

I wasn't sure where to post this--
Has anyone seen the Spiderman tape entitled "Hobgoblin"? It features Kingpin (Fisk) and of course, Hobgoblin. This particular character (Spiderman) reminded me very much of the Flash--quite humorous and witty.
But what I'm really looking for is feedback on the animation. Is it good animation, or poor animation--and why? I don't know a lot about the technique. The episode I bought (it's roughly 45 min. long) seemed rather ambitious.

you would drop FLASH over MM? on grounds of ORIGINALITY?
MM is just an alien looking SUPERMAN
Flash at least has the cosmic treadmill and other coll effects iwth his speed
MM cant do anything but be a weaker superman!
not that i dislike MM or anything but originality isnt his claim to fame

Actually MM kind of picks up the superpowers that superman lacks. Intangibility, shape shifting, telepathy. Superman cant do those things. So Ive always seen the two as adding up to all the superpowers but on thier own they both lack a good chunk of 'em.

My grounds were not on ORIGINALITY, but on uniqueness. Valid aurguments could be made for dismissing each of the current members (assuming one is to be dismissed.) I simply feel that if anyone had to be lost, the Flash could be compensated for by the others with the least lose to the team. It's not that he is not original or unique, it's that his abilities can be duplicated the most by the other members. He is THE fastest but only his treadmill tactic is beyond the others (and I'm not certain about that.)
