Another episode of the high-rated CN original continues today. Here's the synopsis:

Ben, Gwen, and Kevin set out to locate the other Plumbers to recruit new members, but the first one on their list may not be as heroic as they hope.

Maybe we should change the talkback image... Kinda dated, by now.

I made the request before the series began over in the talkback image thread, but if you wish to change it up, here's the best picture with the main stars I could find.

Ben Tennyson digivolve to.....
Chromastone!

Has anyone been reminded about Digimon from watching his transformations?

Nah. I don't think so.

This was a good episode. It had some character development, good action and an ok plot.

Hallelujah! At last a good villain on this show! Michael Morningstar was a great antagonist and, though the episode's ending indicates otherwise, I wouldn't mind seeing him again.

And the Kevin/Gwen stuff was actually somewhat better here. Hopefully it'll continue that way.

pretty good episode. Why are they the only plumbers grandkids? I was a little disappointed with chromastones screentime.

I agree with basicly everything, only problem I had, they didn't give us any ideas to motives, he wants power. Why does he want power? Why does he what he does? If you compare to Kevin 11 it was self explanatory why Kevin was the way he was.

Once again another Plumber that predouced an offspring with a non human, because Michael is part something.

Good episode
I wish they show more Chromastone

Maybe everyone did find out about Ben's secret, like in Good Day Good Ridance, because Mike referred to Ben as the famous Ben Tennison. So maybe the world found out, than later he somehow got the Omnitrix off, and to everyone's knowledge it is still off and Ben 10 super hero is retired.

Speaking of Plumber decendents, I hope we see Cooper again. He had powers that could be a help. Plus it is a reason for the gang to bring up the Negative 10, and I would love for Kevin to find out about the Negative 10 and be insulted that they didn't ask him to join the elite villain team.

I guess so, though other shows have had similar transformation like American Dragon: Jake Long for example.

But in reguards to Digimon, maybe Mike is Myotismon's son, he reminds a little bit of Myotismon with his quest for power and female blood or energy.

Let's see if it'll work or not.

I didn't actually get to watch the episode today as I had a funeral to attend, but the little bit I did see showed that Kevin really does care for Gwen and Ben's feelings are starting to pay off. I really enjoyed how he was willing to admit his mistake to rush a team together.

I guess the preview for next week makes it where those wanting Ben to give Kevin the talk don't need to. The preview shows that Gwen's brother gets kidnapped, and now the gang must save him. I always suspected Gwen had siblings. Sure, they say Ben is an only child in Ben 10, but we never really learned much about Gwen's side of the family. It looks like they could very well be improving the series with each episode.

Actually, during the trivia marathon, we find out that Gwen has a brother named Ken, that Ben idolizes so much that he named his son after him.

I didn't see the aforementioned trivia marathon. I'm glad we'll be seeing him next week though, and it looks like Grandpa Max might be getting back in action as well.

I'm suprised no one didn't say this...but didn't anyone find it weird that after Ben got blasted by Mike he reverted back to human.

It's never happened before, also it seems like the omnitrix is timing out faster than it should.

Vilgax has been able to force Ben to turn back to the normal in the past. He did so by touching the Omnitrix symbol on Ben's soulder, but not by a blast.

I think the point is that Ben has more control over when he changes back now. Reverting back to human appears to be deliberate. Notice it also no longer fizzles on him.

Since we probably have to assume Azmuth's the guy they got to take it off, he probably tinkered with it while nobody was looking.

It's strange how much control Ben has over the omnitrix now that he's had 5 years of not using it under his belt

I guess all the control is all from the upgrade.
Talk about good reception on wi-fi using the omnitrix; being able to download a software/hardware update across galaxies like that :anime:

Maybe it's just that one time, but now everytime he gets K.O'd he reverts back to his human form.
Maybe he doesn't even time out anymore.

I think the auto-transform-back thing is a fail-safe. If he gets knocked out or otherwise incappable of properly using the omnitrix, it reverts him back to human so that others will know that he is in fact Ben, and therefore can give him the approriate care for a human during an emergency.

You know, I had a hard time being able to tell that Gwen was acting weird due to the fact that she acts so wooden all the time. I mean, when you barely have a personality, what's out of character?

Quoted for truth. A shame her character has fallen so far since the original series. And now she's randomly showing feelings for Kevin despite the fact that he's...really not that appealing a guy? Silly.

I'm guessing that after "Kevin's Big Score" Ben and Gwen are both more trusting of Kevin. Afterall it's Kevin who opens up his history when Ben's not seeing his point about Mike and Ben's just annoyed at him for trying to break and enter on this guy. So yeah for team dynamics actually smoothing over in time. Still though, they could of done a better job of setting up the lesson here: Afterall it wasn't just Ben that was way too trusting of Mike for the most part since Gwen was also fawning over him some (I guess some over trying to make Kevin jealous but it wasn't just that and the "spell" Mike had her on that stopped him). Still when building a team you have to get a good feel for the guy at first, establish some history and then see if they're worthy of joining you since not knowing anything about the guy besides him being a plumber isn't really a reason to start joining up with him. I also liked how in this one Gwen pointed out how she knew Kevin was crushing on her and actually encouraged him to ask her out. That was actually a pretty funny subplot that really show's Kevin's weakness of actually admitting to his feelings of caring for someone, not just his feelings of not trusting a situation. In general, though a bit dry towards the middle this was a pretty good ep. It was sort of obvious that there was something bad going on with Mike but the way it was potrayed here was pretty subtley done (just showing you glimpses of the markings before Kevin pointed them out later on) and I liked how Gwen defeated Mike and the woman fed back on they're power (though they could of shown more what happened to him afterward). Nothing terribly amiss with this one. Still nice use of team dynamics in fights and situtations, still no terribly annoying personalities from our heroes, and still a steady interesting plotline without dipping into anything terribly corny. I know I keep saying it but it's stuff like this that makes me a fan of this show even if I disliked the original.

It was kind of ironic that Ben would find a plumer right away to start building his team. But he got his stupid ego in the way for the better part of the episode. For once, Kevin was right. but will Kevin even ask Gwen out. I mean, he's a really tough guy and he knows that she'll say yes if he even does, so I can't figure out why he doesn't ask her. I don't know, maybe that's just me.
