whats your favorite evil dead movie. while in my opinion evil dead one is the best strict horror movie. i feel that evil dead 2 is the most entertaining of the series.

Evil Dead 2. Evil Dead tried to be a serious horror movie, but didn't really get past the cheesiness (Which is why they parodied it in Evil Dead 2!). Also the part with the girl and the vines being...um....naughty... just grossed me out. :eek:

yeah i have heard from girls its panful to watch. in the bruce campbell bookhe said at the showing he was a a bunch of the women just got up and left the theatre.

Army of Darkness is the best one to watch, and even then you have to be with a group of 4 or more people to make it bearable.

I kind of like the first. I think the cheesiness was intentional. It's still humour, just more subtle, that's all. Part II is great. AoD had too maney cheap shots that bombed.

Part 1.

Saw this at age 9 and it genuinely freaked me out.

Even though the next two sequels were fairly entertaining, I was left disappointed. Way too much humor for something that I thought succeeded in being terrorfying in the first place.

Army of Darkness is definately my favorite! :p After that......I guess I'd have to say ED2, I wasn't a big fan of the first one....... :(

Oh My God....what took me so long to reply to this post?! AHH!!!! I shoulda been The first reply... :D Being THE resident "Evil Dead-ite" here.

Evil Dead was a really good horror movie. First movie that ever made my stomache turn(That last 5 minutes, where they're all decaying...eww..). And of course..the infamous "It was the tree's!" scene...heh...

Evil Dead 2. "Dead by Dawn" as Sam Raimi & Bruce Campbell like the call it...It kept all of the horror aspects of the first one...but, this movie had a budget. In the end, they knew they couldnt hide the 'camp', so...they made it a half-comedy. And it sure worked out mighty fine!

Army of Darkness...or.."Medieval Dead". Entirely comedy-action, with horror aspects. The easiest of the 3 to watch, and also the catchiest, & concidered the best....

But in the end...Evil Dead 2 IS the champion of greuling horror...and comedy.... :D

Definately Army Of Darkness. ED2 is a better made movie and excellent in itself, I just love the bad tempered, womanising, coward of an Ash we get in the third film. DVD is excellent too. Good commentary.

I love the both (not a fan of the first though).... AOD is just amusing and it takes my fancy at this particular moment...!

I love Evil Dead 2!!!
I saw the first one which was good, but ED2 had some of the best stuff like, Ash cutting his own hand off. The Evil/demons of this movie really torture poor Ash a lot in this movie, the scene where Ash goes a bit nuts is heart breaking.
But the film is also funny, as soon as I saw the redneck couple and the scientist couple, I started placing bets on who was gonna die first. And who can forget the chainsaw on Ash's hand!?
All the cool stuff was in this movie!! :D
