"Northwest Hounded Police" (MGM, Droopy)
An absolute Tex Avery classic. It's even more trippy if you watch it dubbed in Spanish. Admittedly I'm at a loss to say which one was my favorite wild take.
"Can You Take It" (Fleischer, Popeye)
Fav scene: Popeye and Bluto smoke cigars, and the sailor man blows smoke out of his eye! Watch also for the scene where Popeye gets so hot for Olive the thermometer burns to ash in his mouth. Also dubbed over in Spanish.
"Cracked Ice"
The pig's voice was modeled after W.C. Fields. Who was he addressing in the audience, and why was he implying they were made of wood? DYN he referred to his heckler as "my little termite terrace"? Watch for the bit where the huge dog emerges from a tiny doghouse. The highlight of the short is a drunken fish with a magnet stuck to it attracting skate blades and an axe. Undubbed.
"Katnip Kollege"
That little girl cat was adorable--sort of reminded me of a feline Betty Boop, but not as high-voiced. The professor sounded very familiar, too. Listen for the line in the boy cat's song about "rolling cigarettes"--I'm surprised that wasn't edited! Undubbed.

The off-screen heckler was supposed to be Edgar Bergan's Charlie McCarthy (who was a ventriloquist dummy... if you didn't already know). Fields and Charlie had a rather humorous "feud" on the radio shows of the day.
