View Full Version : New Megaman Cartoon - Megaman EXE
I announced this on the CKC a while back, but never did bother to post it here.
I'm not sure how many of you guys play videogames here, but if you've ever played Game Boy Advance - you should be familiar with a game called Megaman Battle Network.
Well, rememebr the old Megaman cartoon that Fox used to show? There will be a new one - an anime series, based off the Battle Network continuity. Here's hoping the writing fares a bit better than the American version of Megaman Classic ^___^
Rumor has it that if its popular enough, it may hit the states. And thanks to other videogame cartoons that have gone well (Pokemon being the biggest one, and with me hearing good thins about the Kirby anime) I'm certain the Rockman anime will do well.
Here are some screenshots below. Whaddaya think?

The series should start airing this March in Japan, sometime on the 4th.

Eh? That was quick... the game's only been out a short time. Hmmm.... could be interesting, though the game was really oriented toward kids. Looks like it could have good animation, though.

they need old school megaman!
none of that GBA ****!
Bring back Rock and Roll!
Maybe X!
The original megaman games were too good!
base a show on those, not this new game!

Have you actually sat down and played Megaman Battle Network?
Granted I SORELY miss Megaman Classic and I'm a huge fan of the X Continuity - but Battle Netork is VERY VERY good and besides the RPG elements stays true to the roots of the original. Even has good ol Doc W unlike Legends.
Dont knock it till ya try it and see it. The format of the game could work as a series. Its quite feasable and the storyline is pretty good.
And believe it or not - There IS a Roll EXE :)

Yeah, those images look awesome. If the series is good, maybe Toonami will pick it up. You never know! :)

I'd love to see it. Toonami would be a great option, but that might be a few years off.

I've got the opening, and the second, sixth, and seventh episodes, raw. And for .asf files, they aren't that bad. Well, the opening's in .avi, but, anyway.
I'm working on getting the first episode, and I think it's subbed, but I'm not sure. So far in my download, I've got 1 byte out of 188 megabytes. The connection's not very stable.

You wouldnt mind sending me a copy of the EXE opening would you? When it comes time to cover Megaman in the trivia I'd love to put the opening up :D
And if you could tell me where you downloaded those episodes via PM there may be a chocolate chicken in it for you ;) **hinthint**
So how is it so far? Any good?
This reminds me that I need to check the petition that someones doing to get the long running Rockman mangas translated...though its probably hopeless. -__- *sigh* I'm on Wily withdrawl...

Get me over AIM the next time you're on, and I'll be glad to send it. I also managed to get the first episode fansubbed after about 5 to 6 hours of downloading.
I think it's a pretty good show. Not up there with Cowboy Bebop and Excel Saga, but it's still a fun show to watch.
I'll probably hang onto the .asf episodes just because they're raw, and if I ever figure out how to use Premiere, and get an desire to make a music video, they'll come in handy.

Nyah. Somehow this looks like a show that'll be headed more towards Kids WB. In short, they'll mess up the voice acting and whatnot.

I REALLY wanna see this show. :) As long as it's nothing like the american Megaman cartoon, it should be good. ^^ But I hope Numberman dies a long, painful death. ^^

I haven't seen Numberman yet, but of the episodes I've seen, Elecman's been on twice. Guess he didn't get fully deleted the firt time.

Up to 11 by now. Hey, hyperknux, are you getting it straight from anime haven, also?
Y'know, I almost feel sorry for Hino Ken and Fireman. Almost.
Roll's got a battle in the next episode, but what I'm looking forward to is the inevitably cool fight between Rockman and Blues.
