What do you think about Chowder? Is it another crap show or is it an original show with good jokes? Your choice. Please grade with letter grades (You don't have to)

There's no objective way to answer this question, as it's based solely on individual opinions. I myself enjoy Chowder, but I can't-and don't presume to speak for everyone. I would advise you to watch a few episodes and judge for yourself.

Yes, I did indeed watch episodes of Chowder, but I would like to hear people's opinions. =/

Well, it's a unique and amusing show that has great moments. I really enjoy the show, and feel that it truly deserves that 20-episode second season it got.

It's a pretty decent show. Has a couple of laugh-out-loud moments. At times though, I almost feel like Billy and Mandy are just going to run on-screen and take over.

Yes, I know CH Greenblatt worked on Spongebob and Billy and Mandy and blahblahblah, but still, it does have that "Billy and Mandy" feeling to it that you just can't ignore.

Especially since Maxwell Atoms came out and did an episode with a real B&M feel, that actually doesn't stand out much.

I thoroughly enjoy “Chowder”. I’ll post a copy of my TVRage review, though keep in mind that it’s somewhat dated.

What is the difference between success and failure? Throughout the course of history, there have been many things that were hailed as the next great thing, only to fall into oblivion and be forgotten. On the flipside, there have been many things that came out of nowhere; they reached a level of quality and success that nobody could have predicted. Over the past few years, Cartoon Network has been experimenting with their programming in hopes of finding the next great thing, and even though I have disagreed with their decisions time and time again, I believe that they have finally found something in “Chowder”. Will it be a success, or will it be a failure? Will it be bestowed success, or will it have to earn its prestige? These questions will only be answered in time, but I believe that it is the next great thing.

When I first heard about the series, I had completely dismissed it as Cartoon Network’s latest attempt at whoring itself out for ratings, but when I actually sat down and watched it, I was amazed. I seldom laugh out loud, especially when I’m watching television, but this series had me cracking up right from the start. Sure, some episodes are better than others, and there are always weak spots from time to time, but this series is downright hilarious. The creator of the series, C. H. Greenblatt, had worked on both “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “The Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy”. I believe that he has managed to take the best of both shows and combine it with a completely new and unique concept, which has permitted an incredible mixture of comedy and wit to manifest. My only complaint about the comedy comes with the use of toilet humor; it seems like a necessity in this day and age, but I’ve never been fond of it. It may make the children laugh, but it’s truly lacking in substance. Fortunately, toilet humor doesn’t have a dominating presence in every episode, so it’s nothing more than a minor annoyance.

I have heard many people say many things about the animation, but I personally believe that it’s outstanding. Every episode is vibrant and full of color; I often find myself staring at the background, just hoping to see as many things as I can. While it may be a minute detail, I’ve loved how the animators often use tons of visual jokes and gags in the background; whether it’s a random box of Maple Bear Extract, or some written notes on the bathroom wall, the series does its best to reward those who look around to see what other people might miss. One other impressive detail with the animation is how the patterns on the characters’ clothing constantly shift when they walk around. This is rather difficult to explain by using the written word, so all I can say is that you’ll have to check out the series to see just what I’m talking about.

The thing that I love most about this series is the characters. I have said time and time again that characters are what separate good television programs from great television programs, and I love how the characters are used in this series. Most of the characters seem to have an aura of authenticity around them; when I watch the series, I could understand the characters and sense genuine reasons and desires that dictate their behavior. They each have their own merits and flaws; they each have their own personality quirks that the audience can identify with. Granted, the series is still a comedy series, so character development and depth are typically forsaken in favor of laughs, but the series still places an emphasis on using the characters properly.

My favorite character in the series is Panini, a bear-cat-rabbit hybrid who is in love with Chowder, the titular character of the series. I have always been a fan of adorable characters, though Panini has really stood out amongst all of the favorite characters that I have had over the years. Liliana Mumy is incredibly talented for her age and I truly love the voice that she has provided for the character, though I also appreciate how the people in charge of crafting the stories have put Panini to good use. She is in love with Chowder, even though he isn’t interested in girls and never returns her affections; this permits some really great scenes to take place, which are both hilarious and incredibly adorable. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about it, as the two characters have such great chemistry and their reasons are always my favorite scenes in the episodes where they interact. I would love the series for these two characters alone, and what they bring to the table, but the series has so much more going for it and I wouldn’t be able to share my thoughts on every detail.

When all is said and done, I realize that I am growing older and that my opinions don’t really matter anymore. That’s really a great irony, as when people are old enough to actually understand jokes and appreciate animation, they no longer matter in the eye’s of the network executives. However, I truly adore this wonderful animated program and I believe it’s the best thing on television; I hope that people will check it out.

I think it's kinda cute, but not all that involving. I mean, it has so many good things in it - imaginative art, a cute central character, an interesting fantasy world - but...it hasn't quite clicked yet IMO. I wish I could get more specific as to why I'm not over the moon over it, but I'm kind of at a loss here.

It's a kids show. I'm sure I would find it hilarious if I was a kid, but I don't see how an adult would find humor directed towards kids funny.

If that was the case, then Spongebob wouldn't be so popular with adults.

I like it. The writing is decent, though I wish there were less gross-out gags.

But I wish Schnitzel actually talked. he seems to be a great character.

It has it's moments that make you burst out laughing, and throughout the show, I have bouts of giggling. You can't honestly say that it's not original. I give it a A

I really like Chowder. I do find it funny and I'm smiling the whole way through! I especially love Schnitzel and Truffles. This toon is enchanting and I give it an "A".

Seems likable enough, I've seen a few episodes (like the episode where he imploded from eating a lemon or something like that). I haven't gotten into it enough to remember when it's on, though. :D

It's the best thing on CN since Fosters' went south.

I've said this in at least 20 posts

Love the series, hate the voice for Chowder. If I were in the 6-11 demo, I would be watching this every day like I did B+M and EEE. C.H. Greenblatt is also the man (The only WoW player with a huge hit under their belt excluding Trey and Matt)

Saw the show recently, it was pretty funny, especially Chowder and Schnitzel at the bank. Also like the random stop-motion cutaways.

It's a good, likable show. Slightly above average, and one of the best shows CN has had in awhile. Love the animation and drawing style, specifically the backgrounds and movement of the patterns (there is none); it's really unique. And the random live action bits add to Chowder's originality. If there was a grade between A- and B+, it's what I would give Chowder.

It's weird, but enjoyable.I can tolerate the characters and (most) of their antics. But I have a feeling Snitzel could easily become the Meg Griffin of the show if things got too out of hand.
