Here's just a quick (if slightly abrupt) point: Please understand that I'm no happier with many of Cartoon Network's recent programming decisions than anyone else on this board. But... just for a short while, in the proper spirit of honoring Chuck Jones and cherishing his animated legacy, couldn't we call a temporary halt to the CN bashing that's been creeping into easily one-third of the Jones-related messages this weekend? I'm sure our kindred spirits within CN's walls are just as much in shock as we, and they're doing the best they possibly can with what they've got. On occasions like this, a little more positive energy spread around never hurts.

Okay...you do have a point. However, Have you seen episodes of the CJ show where there were McKimson shorts inserted? To me, that's just a slap in the face to a great man's legacy, and I guess I got a little overzealous, but I've also seen their track record first hand. I just want them to know that if they do a tribute, to at least do it right. To me, this is the single most important thing they could do to bring me and others back into the fold for their many sins against classic animation. If they could do what I asked, maybe the suits would lighten up a little, and things would be better all around. At least there are anarchists in the network, or I'm sure that little Scrappy Doo rant would never have been made. It actually made me respect the little guy. I just want them to give the classic fans a little more respect, and not just another slap in the face. If they do wrong, however, rest assured they WILL hear about it. Not just from me, but from other enraged fans, and possibly the Jones family if they're particularly heinous. For now, I'm just taking a wait and see attitude from now until the end of the tribute.

I understand that there are a number of people working at CN who truly try to do the best they can, and that a tribute to Jones can't be done litterally overnight. It's just that the people on this board in general have been very disappointed in The Chuck Jones Show, after the effort that was put into the making of the Bob Clampett Show.
As I said in the other thread, I hope the cartoons chosen tonight are done thoughfully, and in a case like this, airing such cartoons as "One Froggy Evening," "What's Opera, Doc?" "Fast and Furry-ous," "The Dover Boys," and "Duck Amuck" would be appropriate, even if there are complaints here that those shorts are overplayed. I would guess the number of people viewing this week's show would be well above average, and showing the cartoons that Jones is most famous for would make sence.
...but if you could sneak in "Joe Glow the Firefly" "Fresh Airdale" or one of the other lesser-known Jones `toons, that would make the show extra special.

I was going to say that airing "Joe Glow the Firefly" would make the whole thing a positive for me. Is there anything politically wrong in it, other than Cartoon Network's thought of "It's not colorized, we can't air it."? I would take what aired over "Fresh Airedale" any time, though.
