Yes!! Canada wins the gold in Men's Hockey in quite possibly the best game I have ever seen! Go Canada!! What an awesome way to end the Olympics!

Well its just hockey doesnt matter atleat we destroyed Cuba in 2000 thats all that matters to me.
I didn't see the entire game, but I did watch all of the 3rd period. I was very happy to see Canada win! :D

CANADA CANADA CANADA! :D
I really like the Olympic format for ice hockey. The hurry-up faceoffs, the 10 second change rules, and the generally faster pace would really help the NHL. Who wants 5 minute shots of some guy sitting in the penalty box? The Olympics cuts the crap and keeps the game moving along.
Obviously, I don't expect the NHL to not have commercials like the Olympics, but they could learn from the more exciting rules.

Didn't watch. Going to catch the re-run later tonight. I'll be cheering for both teams. ;)

<sob> :(
I wanted the US to win so bad. <sigh> Well, it was a great game despite the fact the offense ran off. You gotta admit, my neighboring Canucks, Richter did put out everything he had. I think NBC put too much emphasis on Chris Chelios, from my standpoint.
The game was closer than the score showed, because the US lost their heads in the last period...couldn't get the puck out of the zone. They ditched Richter. If the US had won, Richter would've been MVP. But they didn't. The Canadians wanted it more and got it.
I'm going to go cry into my NY Rangers beach towel now and take a nap. Wake me when my Rangers win the Cup or when the next Olympics come around, whatever comes first.
I live a futile existence. :(
Cuba has a hockey team? Is it like the Jamaican bobsledding team? :D

yay for Canada! They just totally got it all in the men and women's hockey, didn't they? And come on, it's Canada's thing, hockey, and all. I'm quite glad they one. Although, I thought that the US was favored, and that they'd do better. The women's game and been quite close you know, but the men's wasn't. It seemed that a lot of people wanted to make this into the 1980 game when US came out of no where and took the gold. But, you can't recreate that moment obviously, and this isn't the same team and they didn't go through what that team did back in the 80's. Yay again for Canada! My acting coach should be pleased since he's Canadian.

Actually, the score was flattering to the Canadian side. It was a close game up until the last five minutes of the game, when the 4th goal was scored. Even then there was some tension. Sakic's fast break goal with about 3 minutes left finally sealed it.
I also credit the quiet and relatively unknown goaltender Martin Brodeur (in the world arena, that is) . He made a lot of crucial saves when America was making its run, and for several minutes in the third when the Canadians were just trying to get the puck out of their side, it was really exciting.

Whoa!
I didn't realize there were so many Canadians on this Message Board!
"Canadians... they walk among us..." (cue creepy music) :D
I've got a question for you guys... will Quebec EVER sign the 1982 Constitution? And will Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories EVER become provinces??? I've always wanted to know these answers, myself... ;)
But, we Americans love you guys. :) There's no one else we'd rather share a border with. Like President John F. Kennedy said, "Geography has made us neighbors, but history has made us friends." Or, as Little Big Horn once said, "The meat of the buffalo tastes the same on both sides of the border." :)
Did you know? The U.S. and Canada have the longest undefended border on Earth.

Heh, my rxn too when I watching the game and I saw Canada nail two goals at the last moment. :p
But they did very well, and the US did too. It was a good game and a better effort overall for both teams compared to Nagano. :)
Hats off to Belerus for beating Sweden in a brutal, brutal game and making it to the Bronze medal game. :)

There's no need for that comment. If you're joking, then stick in a ":)", but if not - there's no need for comments like that. I thought it was an awesome and intense game, myself - and I'm a big hockey fan.

lol, what I meant by that was that the score wasnt close event tought the score didnt reflect the game it self. And Richter and the US defense looked like swiss cheese. :)
and just to addd on that I wasnt trying to offend anyone sorry :(
