I felt that we needed one of these, and I decided to pick up from where RavenFan17 left off last year. The winners of the first three rounds were "Two-Face part 1", "Heart of Ice" and "Perchance to Dream" respectively. Vote for your favourite; each round will last for one week and poll 5 will open next friday. It can almost serve as a countdown of sorts to Batman: Gotham Knight.

Perhaps the easiest poll I've ever had to pick from. Robin's Reckoning, Part One, without question.

Just to clear up any confusion, I'm going by DVD order, which is almost the same as production order (the only difference being that my way groups the two-parters together). So the selection of episodes in the polls might be slightly different to the selections used in the official 10th anniversary polls, but hey, why should this series of polls be exactly the same? (And I'm well aware that RavenFan17 started off following production order, dammit. :p)

I'll have to think about my choice for this round, but my favourite in this round is probably "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?". But I'll watch a few of them again just to be sure...

I always loved The Laughing Fish, it was when The Joker used his toxin on seafood.

There are a few eps in there I didn't care for like Cat Scratch Fever, but most of the eps in that poll are awesome. Kinda hard to decide.

One of the finest animated sequences of the series (at the mansion), a heartfelt story that was tastefully presented, and spot-on characterization with believable conflict make Robin's Reckoning pt. 1 the top of this crop.

Major kudos to "The Laughing Fish" as well, which certainly ranks in my top 10 favorites.

LOL - I come here immediately after typing a post very similar to yours in structure over at your The Batman tournament. :D

Yeah, "Robin's Reckoning part 1" has its fair share of harrowing moments, and solid animation coupled with dark visuals. The sort of stuff that my choice, "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?", can only dream of. But for me, the Riddler's debut is the only edge-of-your seat episode in this batch, a fun story which shows the lengths Batman will go to to outwits his enemies (tampering with the Hand of Fate) and gives us an ending that leaves us in a mood of disquiet, anticipating the Riddler's return.

I absolutely adore "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich" and "Robin's Reckoning, Part 2", but it's the first part of that epic that takes my vote. IMO, the show nailed Robin perfectly.

Really, it's only the Catwoman eps and "Night of the Ninja" that didn't quite do it for me in this selection.

Wait...wasn't it already established that the general conseus was that Heart of Ice was the best? Oh well, I voted The Laughing Fish. A great performance by the Joker and the first episode I believe to have Harley Quinn as a main character (she first appeared in Joker's Favor as an intended one-shot flunkie).

Didn't "HOI" and "Beware the Grey Ghost" tie in round 2? If so, was there a tie-breaker of some sort?

In any case, as fun as it is to reminisce on these classics, the fact is I see it playing out almost exactly as the original 10th anniversary polls did...

General consensus and a great episode; I view it as one of the greatest examples of a classic character being vitalized supremely!

Great dialogue, classic reinvention, but.... I've always felt there were better, which includes "Robin's Reckoning" pt. 1 and my personal favorite for its classic characterization, symbolism, and moving story: "Two-Face" pt. 1

Out of the ones in that poll:

Robin's Reckoning part 1 is my favorite because it was brilliant.

The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy is probably the worst one because it seemed to have been written by a 8 years old kid, since didn't make sense. I mean, if the villain (forgot his name) obtaining Bats' cape was part of Batman's plan, then it didn't make sense that Bats didn't give it to him the first time he requested it, especially considering that a innocent almost got killed because of that ¬_¬

There was a tie-breaker afterwards and "Heart of Ice" won.

And this tournament will probably turn out very similar to the 10th anniversary one, though there are a few rounds that I thought should have turned out differently, looking at the 10th anniversary poll (this round, round 6 and the final, among others like round 1, which alas stayed the same).

Getting to be very close between "Robin's Reckoning part 1" and "The Laughing Fish"... Two more days, everyone!

It'll be interesting to see. I know I've always felt that there are a trio of episodes better than "Heart of Ice." I wonder if anything can make a push.

This is incredibly close... Every time "The Laughing Fish" leaps forward, "Robin's Reckoning part 1" starts to make a comeback... Well, with less than 24 hours left, I hope everyone gets their vote in. This could be the first round thus far that plays out differently to its 10th anniversary counterpart!

We could end up with a tie! Roughly 2 hours left, and we'll need to have a run-off round to settle the tie unless someone votes in favour of "Robin's Reckoning part 1" or "The Laughing Fish" now!
