Okay, so tonight was the premier of the Adult Swim action block. I was extremely happy. The shows were good and I've got enough anime to last me for a while. So what is everyone else's thoughts?

I think it's excellent! THEY KEPT OPENINGS AND ENDINGS!

Nothing to complain about really. If it were me, I'd move Tenchi to Adult Swim Sunday's and put Big O in Tenchi's previous time slot.

Yeah, I missed it, also. :( Man, last week totally sucked for me! It's no wonder I lost track of things like that!

=\ I figured out what I did wrong...I forgot to turn it off. Stupid thing won't record if you don't turn it off. *sigh*

huh, my VCR did record it while I was out, so I got to watch it this morning, and I though it was great!
Anavel Gato is the man, besides the Red Comet, that is...
Pilot Candidate seems like it has promise...
actually I thought it was funny that the strange voice called the show Pilot Candidate, and the opening said Candidate for Goddess, the original name...
I haven't gotten the chance to watch Yu Yu Hakusho yet, but it seems cool...
overall, I liked it, and hell, yeah, ORIGINAL OPENINGS!!

i liked Gundam 0083, but then again i love anything with a gundam in it, though this show does show promise.

Here's my synopsis:
-Original Openings and Endings is a BIG plus, I've always liked "Through the night" (the OS openning song) and am glad they played it.
-I noticed the more "uncut" stuff got the earlier slots (if u call 11pm early), while the old chopped up stuff got the back end of the block. This is good
-Shows:
Yu Yu Hakusho (sp?): Great! I didn't know anything about this show before, but it's got just the right mix of action, drama, and comedy. I loved this show and can't wait til next week.
Cowboy Bebop: Even after seeing the whole series 3 times now, it still has that rush of excitement. You gotta love the scene where Vicious breaks free and takes over the clan (did they edit out the blood when he slices that old guy?). Still good
Pilot Canidate: Erm. Well, I like CGI and all, but the suits looked too fake. Theyd look better if they were drawn. The whole story really reminds me of the game Zone of the Enders (the suits and stuff, at least). I guess I'll watch it next week. OH YA- And how about that dubbing? God it was horrible, it annoyed me to see their mouths start moving before they said anything and to continue moving for a few seconds after they stopped. But it's still alright.
Gundam 0083: I've seen the first 10 episodes on my own and they were pretty cool. I noticed one edit where they said sumthing about the jump pack, when it shuld have been "****, hes so fast". Maybe I'll stick around if I'm not feeling tired.
Outlaw Star: I love the show, but when it loses its swears, blood, and an entire episode, you get a feeling that you're missing something. I ordered all the eps. over the net, so I don't think I'll stay up for this one.
Tenchi Muyo: Another show I like, but this one is even more ediited than OS, we lose blood, swears, and swimsuits get drawn in every time theres a naked body. I'm not a pervert or anything, I'm just wondering what the deal is with America being all uptight as opposed to Japan being pro-expression-through art

I've seen 0083 before, and i've gotta say the only thing I really want to watch on ASA is the first hour. PC sucks in my opinion, I own Outlaw Star and 0083, and I've seen Tenchi on Toonami enough.

The only thing of merit that I saw last night was "Tenchi Muyo". Still, I'll hold my vote until next when I have a chance to see ''Yu Yu Hakusho'' (I missed it completely). That is supposed to be pretty good...

Overall, I thought it was great. The dub of Yu Yu Hakusho was better then expected, and I'm a Gundam fan, so of course I liked Gundam 0083. The only down points were PC/CFC and the still Toonami like, Outlaw Star and Tenchi.

I loved Yu Yu, and was thrilled that they finally showed the openings of OLS and Tenchi on TV. The only letdown of the night was Candidate for Goddess.

It seems like quite a few people had a problem with Pilot Candidate. Other than the CGI of the Goddesses, what was wrong with this anime? I personally can see it as something that I might get into as the story progresses, but for a first episode and the beginning of a story, it seemed pretty decent.

The dubbing of this ep was horrendous! I have seen the mouth movements and the voices not synch up properly since those really bad 70s martial arts movies. Plus hearing Tai, i mean Zero speak made me feel nauseous. I'll give the show one more chance, but that's it.

I really dug what I saw of ASA... which, unfortunately was only Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Whatchamacallit. (When those flu meds kick in, they kick like a horse! But I digress...) Unlike seemingly everyone else in the modern world, it took me a long time to warm up to anime, but I've recently begun to appreciate the finer works. I gotta give ASA a thumbs up and say I'm looking forward to seein' what's in store.

I don't get it. Isn't the show called adult swim? Why do they edit stuff like that?

Im still praising the anime gods (Subtitilus and Dubinski. hehe) for blessing me with several hours of anime every week. I have invested a crap load of money on my anime addiction, and a little weight is lifted from my wallet when I can see great shows like Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho (YAY!), and Pilot Candidate (i know what your thinking, but i liked it. it reminded me of Zone of the Enders). Reguardless of edits on certain shows, a truely good anime show can shine through. Its not all about nudity, blood, and cursing. I have the whole Outlaw Star series on DVD, but still enjoy watching it on ASA. Thats fine if you need to see it uncut, I know how you feel, but try to hold back on totally trashing it just because CN is scared ****less of the censors.

And it is not only CN that is doing this, it is also teh FCC doing it's job too since CN is mostly a Childs channel.
