I really want to know what this issue is like. I might pick it up if I hear some favourable comments.

I'm sadly not getting this one (blame my small town), but I'm just wondering if...

The Gotham City villain mentioned is Gearhead, since this issue is written by the same person who wrote the last Gearhead story, which showed his origin, and that someone gave him his technology and is controlling him. Since Chris Jones also mentioned Intergang in this issue, it would somewhat make sense that Intergang gave Gearhead his technology, and Batman traced it back to Metropolis.

Just guessing.

I read it. The villain here is Mannheim making his first appearence in his TB incarnation. The story is about him and his cybernetic-human gang, and we find out later that he has become a cyborg using the same technology as Metallo.

Good stuff.

I liked the issue too. I liked that there were some homages to Action Comics #1 and Detective Comics #27 in there as well. I like how the writer was able to merge the seperate plot threads from the first two pages together when the two heroes came together and there was a nice homage to "World's Finest" with Lois Lane hitting on Bruce Wayne. It was a fun simple story and would have been great to see it animated.

Bruce and Lois hitting on each other, we already seen that story in "World's Finest"

Anyway... A fantastic issue - the best out of the entire 'The Batman Strikes' run, and thats pretty high praise - cause this books always entertaining.

The story - The most immersive script this comic ever produced.. so congratulations Josh Elder. Makes connections to the two-parter from the series and adds many more layers to Batman and Superman's relationship by exploring their methods.

Many great homages to previous shows and animated versions, not mention comics and of course the characters creators... all intertwined with a riveting mystery, drama and action based story. The dialogue is crisp, clean and never feels clumsy - and all that in just 20 pages.

The art - Again, i feel this was Christopher Jones most epic and beautiful issue yet, he's definitely evolving as an artist. He also makes some homages to classic comic book covers and creators... also worth a mention is how he draws Clark Kent with a slight hunch - very cool. The inking and coloring merges beautifully as well.

Basically, this 20 page comic book story is everything season 5 of The Batman should have been. An impressive piece of work from all involved. Pick it up quick.!
