I enjoyed it and was surprised that the critics issued mostly negative reviews. Their main point is that John Q tried to mix opinions on a serious social issue with the template of the Hollywood action movie and as a result, it came off too awkward. Also, some of the characters were slight exaggerations of themselves.
But personally, I thought the movie was entertaining and the performances were well worth the ticket price.

i thought it was good. it was alotta fun. it woulda been better if he had commit suicide. although most pople would not have liked it if that happened. that would have been so ironic if he commit suicide and the other eart got there in time.

I thought it was a very good, very interesting film. The acting (specifically Denzel of course) was top notch, and very beleivable. Although it was very intense and emotional, there were some good lines.
"You're from the slap-a-ho tribe, and everyone in this room knows it!"
The only thing that wasn't to great was
The end. I just dont think it was too realistic how things worked out. Either Denzel should have shot himself or the kid should have died, and at the very least, Denzel should have faced signifigant jail time. Not that six years or whatever he got is insignifigant, but it just seems... Unrealistic.
Still a very good movie and I recomend it to everyone! :)
