I was just thinking about the upcoming JL episode "Injustice For All" today. Can you imagine the melee battles that we'll get to see in that episode?!? :D

When you think about it, melee battles are the creme de la creme of action sequences. For example, most everyone I know that watched Star Trek: Deep Space Nine did so for all the usual reasons (great TV show, good plot, excellent actors, etc.), but when asked directly, they would say they salivated over the huge melee battles between the Federation/Klingon/Romulan fleets vs. the Dominion/Cardassian/Breen fleets. And that's just one example of a countless number of examples!

I have a feeling that the 7 vs. 7 melee battles we'll get to see of the Justice League vs. the Injustice Gang are going to be awesome (the Injustice Gang has 8 members, but I'm operating under the assumption that Lex Luthor is going to just sit back and watch the fights from the distance)!!! I know they'll put to shame all other Season 1 action sequences, unless they have something wild planned for "The Savage Time". And we all KNOW that the Injustice Gang will be back, many times, before Justice League has run its course as a TV show. Which, I course, is not for a very, very long time. :D

What does everyone else think? Melee battles are good, or what? :)

Squall,

Definitely true in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I'm just happy that the Cardassians decided to switch sides somewhere during that last arc. But the destruction of the Defiant was one of the saddest moments for me in the entire series....

Anyway, wouldn't it be nice if Aquaman showed up to make it an even 8 for 8? ;)

All 16 characters stand there, facing down each other. Suddenly, the Flash grins and says, "Fight scene!" Then all hell breaks loose.

That's a great idea!

They could do an episode in a future Season where the Injustice Gang decides to mess around with Atlantis for some reason, and Aquaman has to be pulled up again as a "bench member" to fight with the JL against the IG.

And they could give Lex Luthor Kryponite Armor and an enhancement suit "Steel"-style. :) :)

"Fight scene!" Sweet! :D

You think that power suit they gave Luthor is just for show? How can they not show him fight Superman one on one? I doubt he'd want to use kryptonite though.

Lex Luthor not using Kryptonite against Superman? Why the heck not?!?

How could you not go into a melee battle against the Justice League without taking some Kryptonite along? Then you're only asking for trouble... :)

I'd really like to see some good pair-ups happen, maybe even different displays of power.
