Most Cartoon Network fans today complain about the network and how they should bring back the old shows. But, are some of these shows a little boring now?

Courage the Cowardly Dog - I find myself only laughing at some of the earlier episodes while some of the mid and later episodes are kinda boring. Courage use to be one of my most favorites but it's kinda dull now.

Swat Kats - I was really happy when this show aired on Boomerang and it's not that it's boring but I'm tired of seeing the same old episodes again and again. Now when I see an episode, I can almost quote what they say, word for word.

Johnny Bravo (with Carl and Pops) - The classic episodes are cool and I thought the newer ones with Carl and Pops were cool too but they aren't what I remember. When the show re-aired on Boomerang I was hoping to see more of the classic episodes but it seems like they just zoomed to the newer ones. I was lucky enough to see the Scooby-Doo crossover, I love that one.

Teen Titans - Even when I was really into this show I could never really watch older episodes, maybe it's just me. When I look back at some of the episodes, they don't hit me the same way they use to, except for seasons 4 and 5.

Dexter's Lab - Don't get me wrong, I love Dexter, he's my favorite Cartoon Cartoon and I'm still waiting on that much deserved DVD but it doesn't have the same effect it use to have.

Part of the problem is that when many of these shows debuted, they were made to only air weekly, not daily. So now when they're reran on a daily/nightly basis, they tend to get a little long in the tooth after a few dozen airings. That's definitely the case with Swat Kats, IMHO. It's not that it's a bad show or that it's become too dated; Swat Kats is actually still a pretty good show IMO; but it was only on for 2 seasons, adding up to only 23 episodes in total. Swat Kats simply didn't make enough episodes to air every day for months on end without becoming monotonous.

Ironically, this is the same problem that plagued a lot of the older classic reruns when Cartoon Network was first launched. When I first got Cartoon Network in 1995, I watched it non-stop. It was great seeing shows like The Funky Phantom or Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch which I hadn't seen in literally years, or even decades. But neither show was on that long and each only made a handful of episodes, so after a few re-airings, they just became tiresome after going through the entire cycle of episodes the 3rd or 4th time.

I'm not sure I'd classify Teen Titans as an "old show", but I also find little appeal in the old shows after going back and rewatching them. Only a few old shows in general manage to keep my interest now that I'm an adult, like Beast Wars.

I've pondered upon this issue and it isn't anything wrong with wanting to move on.As humans,we generally seek out newness and freshness. When one show ends, even though we may love it to death (Amdrag 4ever! :crying: ),we just can't always continue to thrive on re-runs.I've seen some of the older CN shows air and I can watch them just to watch them. But like I said,we just naturally crave something new.Shows that are memorable to you deserve not to be forgotten, but it's a fact of life to move on to the next new thing you know?

I don't know. Maybe if I watch Dexter's Lab everyday for months on end it will get boring.

They aren't really boring, but they really aren't as good as I remember them.

No, not at all. Courage still holds up as well as Pops/Carl Era Johnny Bravo and old Dexter's Lab. Heck, they're usually funnier now due to me being older and recognizing more jokes. That's why I really want Boomerang.

Well, Samurai Jack is still cool, I'm happy to say. I watched an ep tonight - couldn't believe it was on - and I loved every minute. I miss this show so much. I miss the old CN so much...

Courage I still love but some other old favorites I do mostly find hard to go back to and sometimes even go out of my way to avoid watching :(
