If you don't follow baseball, you may not know that the lowly Montreal Expos may soon be moved to another city, or just elimated completely. Nobody even owns the team anymore; Major League Baseball will be running it for the upcoming season. So a group of college kids are starting to raise money in order to buy the team...

I'd love to own a baseball team! I'd finally have good seats. And I'd be guaranteed to actually catch a foul ball for once. I could rag on the players as much as I wanted, and they couldn't do a thing about it! There's just no downside!
I've already pledged $100 on their site:

You should too!

That's an impressive venture. I love grass roots stuff, but i have no interest in owning 1/1000000 of the expos. I wish them well though.

contract the Tampa Bay Devilrays, Florida Marlins, and Montreal Expos. MLB should leave Minesota Twins alone. The Twins have traditional and they are on cusp of being a good ball club unlike these other three teams. Here my problem both the Devilrays and the Marlins are expansion teams that come into existence in the last 15 years with the d'rays starting in '96. MLB problem is overexpansion. Not enough talent to support all of those teams. If you contract the three aftermentioned teams you will get rid of bad players and allow the few good players on these three teams to go other teams and improve their rosters.

They need to cut and even amount of teams though.

No, they don't. MLB has played seasons where they have only have 27 teams before.

When was that? The Mariners and Blue Jays (teams #25 & 26) were both added in 1977. The Rockies and Marlins (teams #27 & 28) in 1993. The Diamondbacks and Devil Rays (teams #29 & 30) in 1998.
You can't have an odd number of teams, cause then there'd always be one team that has no one to play.

Contract the Marlins and Devilrays but move the Montreal Expos to Washington D.C.
