Good for a chuckle.

Number 1 is predictable, but fitting.

You know those guys in real-life who can't talk about video games without trying to sound like the host of Judgment Day? I'm surprised they didn't make the list. I guess it depends on the company you keep.

That was pretty cool (I really liked the pictures :D). Unfortunately, I've met all of those types at my old high school anime club and at various computer labs. They're scary in real life. :ack:

It's okay. Back in early High School, I was a mirror image of the RPG geek. (in appearance and personality) Luckily, I became self-conscious at some point.

...and cut down on my RPG intake...

Some of the guys in that video are the equivalent to some of the people in my anime club. I have to put up with these jackasses all the time! It's disgusting!

Whew... can't say I fit any of those extreme categories.

I knew a guy i went to school with who was a 2, but he played just D&D/Mechwarrior, and he was the type to get his opinion across in a nerd way. Of course he was a nice guy when he didnt act that way.

And there was a guy in my program class who was the "takes it too far" guy. Apperently he has a Jin Roh and a Zeon tattoo on him, and when we would use lab, he would accuse us that we were all looking up porn or watching Power Rangers, when we are all trying to do our lab work...

I am so very, very glad that I have met relatively few of these specimens in the wild. They're like clones of Comic Book Guy!

Pretty much the majority of my residency hall are number 7s (the frat boy description), so I got a good laugh out of that.

Haha, that was a great laugh.

I gotta agree with everyone of them though, some people that game are just....augh! Annoying!

My worst "Takes it too far guy" encounter happened when I met a Sin City fan at a party. He asked me if I liked the Sin City movie, I told him I hated it so much I walked out, and he proceeded to yell at me as if I had just shot his mother in the face!

And there's one comic book shop that I avoid due to the "PC Elitists" that hang out in the computer area in the back of the store. The computer area smells terrible and the guys in there always look at me as if they've never seen a girl before.

My school is full of the jocky types of gamers, it drives me nuts. I'm secure enough to admit that I fit the RPG nerd pretty well, although I'm probably not as uptight about it (unless I'm around those jocky types).

Funny list, safe to say we all have a bit of 1 in us.

Thats just comic book shops for you. One of my nearest ones has a "gaming" table for magic and HeroScape or any Scape and like 50 shelves of VHS tapes (import and domestic) that the owner rents to people (seriously, he has like 3 shelves of the Outer Limits, and a few shelves of asian adult films, and the rest is old school anime that he needs to sell, to me), another is just clogged up the bunghole of comics no one wants (Buts its a good "legit" comic shop) and another just started with a lounge area and its clean for now, although he doesnt really have enough stuff at this point in time (but still a nice place).

You didnt like Sin City? I still look at that film how awesome it is today even though its been a couple of years since ive seen it...

I don't believe I've met either one of those types. I'd also hope I'm not one of those types. If I'm not, then I hope to NEVER be one of those types.

I've met gamers and geeks, and none of them are like the ones mentioned. To most people, I'm the biggest geek they've met, and I'm not as big of a geek or gamer as those listed.

I know an RPG Snob and PC Elitist or two, and I've bumped into some Devil Children online. I've also met a lot of the Frat Boy type, but I found them to be more fun than irritating.

Yeah, Frat gamers at least tend to be relatively friendly. I mean, they're just so HAPPY to be walking, talking fratboy stereotypes. They approach the whole thing with such GUSTO.

Yeah Frat Boys aren't so bad because - by and large - they aren't social misfits. They actually have lives.

I haven't run into many of the more extreme types, but I have come across quite a few of them on the internet.

I actually know someone who a "Takes-It-To-Far" "RPG" and "PC Elitist"

Some people think I look like a "PC Elitist" but I don't act like them since I prefer to play on a console rather than a PC.
