This is the talkback thread for New "South Park" Episode in Homage to "Heavy Metal" (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=22451).
I'll definitely watch this Wednesday's episode, even though I only saw Heavy Metal 2000(which wasn't that good).
I like the new deal with all 150 episodes being online legally. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Hopefully it won't effect the DVD sales for the season sets though.

This sounds promising.. I enjoyed Heavy Metal last time I saw it (which was a while ago).
Years ago I remember my friend and I seeing Heavy Metal on accident. Having only been in like, 6th grade at the time, we watched up to the end of the first story, had no clue as to what was going on, and dismissed it as the stupidest thing we'd ever seen. Wonder how I'd react to it now.
And I can't wait to see how South Park will go about doing it.

The girl in the ad seemed quite Taarna-esque. I wonder what the circumstances are.

I love how they have them online, but they really need to fix the player. I was bale to see the first half of an episode, then I had to sit through the same commercial twice in a row, and then it just stopped. But at least now I can watch them... sorta.

I wonder how specific this is going to be, because at least 75% of the audience, myself included, is going to be lost when it comes to Heavy Metal homages.

Exactly. I'm not exactly happy with the idea that tomorrow's episode could very well be some big reference to something nobody is going to get. Just like the last third of that lesbian bar episode they did last Spring. I didn't see the movie is was copying (shot for shot apparently) and was just dumbfounded that they could be that lazy to just copy someone else's material instead of making something original.

Tomarrow's South Park should be interesting since Heavy Metal is classic movie in anytype of animation in my opinion.

Which is why it's awesome. I love the jokes that I know only me and 13 other people understand ("Fighting the Frizzies" at 11).
And btw if you haven't seen Heavy Metal, you should.

And Kenny has a role. Did anyone notice?

Yes, Kenny had a prominent role in this episode, perhaps to make up for his non-appearance in last week's episode "Britney's New Look". Master Moron should be happy about that (assuming that he saw it).

Yes, I was happy that Kenny got a spotlight episode this season. Though, I wasn't particularly happy about them parodying a 20 year old movie that isn't even that popular(or good). To be honest, even though I've seen Heavy Metal, it was so long ago that at first I wasn't sure that that's what they were parodying.

Heavy Metal is a cult classic and is awesome!! Also this was the best episode so far this season, the others have been ok, and lets not forget how crappy that britney spears one was.
