When this first came out, I had no interest whdtsoever in it, mostly due to the fact that horses don't tickle my fancy and neither do Dreamwork's 2D animated films. But I'm just so happy that CN's going to air an animated film in favor of a live-action one that if I remember, I might just watch this.

This isn't very interesting so far. I can't believe I gave up Bender's Big Score for this!

While this movie never did anything for me, I keep watching it for the beautiful musical scores. It's the best part since everything else kind of bored me.

Well, the movie is pretty much decent. But it isn't anything that special.

The exact opposite to me, i gave up this for Benders big score, but unlike this movie it was good

I remember people griping about animal animation and how it's always ruined by the animals talking. Well, you got it, and guess what? Aside from the decent character design and animation, it was boring. I think Dreamworks should go back and follow suit with Disney, as they always do, and bring us some more 2D animation. I like how they design their human characters....like a hybrid of Don Bluth and Disney, only a little less detailed.

I watched the begining along with other bits and pieces. I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing straight.

It was interesting to have the horses not talk like people, but have Spirit narrate.

umm, I'd give it a 3/5.

I think this movie could've been good if they took out all of the annoying, distracting, totally unneccessary narration.

Yeah, just let the animation tell the story.

That's an interesting take on the narration. It really didn't happen too often during the movie. It was mainly at the beginning, a bit in the middle and then shortly before the end. It wasn't like in every scene. I thought that the narration touched on how the story was kind of a coming of age tale and added more emotion to the story itself

I'm kind of surprised of the low reviews of this movie. I love this movie. I remember seeing it in theaters and enjoying every moment of it. I don't think I've seen it since, but that's more to how I don't really rent or buy movies that often anymore than my enjoyment of the film itself.

Even seeing this movie here, I enjoyed every moment of it. I loved the animation, the character designs and the music is always awesome. I still have the soundtrack for the movie. I love Spirit's strength and how even after all of those struggles, he could not be broken. I also loved seeing how Spirit fell in love with Rain and how he developed a strong friendship with the Native American boy whose name escapes me at the moment. I also liked how instead of having the horses talk, we could see what they're saying through their faces and through their sounds. I thought that it was an interesting choice to take for this movie. I felt like the movie was kind of bitter sweet as Spirit had to say goodbye to his new friend, while it was nice for him to finally go home.

Overall, an excellent movie. I would love it if Dreamworks did go back and did some more 2D animation films since I did really enjoy this film. I should buy the DVD of this movie one of these days. Oh well. I enjoyed the emotions of the characters, the music and the artwork the most here. I also really liked the intensity of the chase scenes near the ending. Great movie in my opinion.

I should've said "better," not "good", because as is I do think it was above average for what the studios were putting out at the time.

I do miss this kind of animation

Pretty original as far as Dreamworks animation goes, but the excessive cel-shaded 3d bits (especially when used for human characters) was off-putting.
