Hola everyone! Well the Delaney poll is coming close to it's end so if you haven't voted yet be sure to head on over. Right now it's a neck and neck race between Mr. Freeze and Freakazoid - so here's hoping Mr. Freeze will stop the red-pajamed guy cold!

-Joe!

Stop reading all ready! Get over there and vote! :D

Joker should have won, but I voted for Freeze just so he wouldn't lose to a nobody! :)

Okay, i know this is the wrong board and all, but i swear that after i voted it read Freakazoid and Mr. Freeze both w/ 34 votes each. I even used the Back button on my browser to look over it several times. But now it says Freakazoid only has 31 votes.

For the record:

It was a technical screw up. Mods have to edit the poll in order to close it. Well, a couple of the mods went in to edit it and lurked until 5:00 hit. Problem is, although the public numbers continue to run up as people vote, when the mod hits "close" and "save changes" to the poll, it resets the numbers to whatever they were when the mod opened the polls' insides. So, mod number one logs out of the poll and it resets the numbers to 34-34 (which were the numbers when he opened up the poll to edit it) and then mod two logs out of the poll and it resets the numbers to 34-31 (which they were when he opened up the poll to edit). In short, a bunch of last minute votes, coupled with bad software design. The only thing missing were the dimpled chads. :p

Fortunately, vBulletin has a feature that lets us go back and match up votes with people, so we know exactly how many votes were really cast. The winner -- by one vote -- was indeed Freakazoid.

Somehow given the circumstances, that's weirdly appropriate.

Isn't there a feature that makes the poll close at a predetermined time? In such a case, mods themselves wouldn't have to physically go in and save the changes.

Yeah, but it's not exact. Swooping in at 5pm is the best way to do it. But now that we know of these problems, we can avoid them next week, and the week after, etc...This is likely the only time we'll have this problem. I do recommend that people stop waiting until the very last minute to vote. Voting in the last hour is fine, by try and vote before 4:55pm. Waiting to the very last minute means that some votes may not get counted.

It's a technical mess up we're going to avid next time. Also, we're still hesitent about allowing an accompanying thread for the poll considering what happened this week. We're still deciding whether or not to allow it. So, stay tuned for Monday when the new poll goes up.

If another stupid argument breaks out, just deal with the parties involved accordingly. But the thread itself is probably something John looks forward to reading (not to mention all the fans of his sketches).

I gotta admit, I was hoping for a tie. Part of me wanted to see Freakazoid giving Freeze a wedgie. :D
