Tonight is the final week of the "Triple Threat Takeover" of RAW, with Triple H taking the reigns. The Game announced last week that John Cena and WWE Champion Randy Orton would team up to take on the entire RAW roster. We are just 13 days away from WrestleMania XXIV!

March 17, 2008

After being subjected two weeks in a row to the sadistic whims of others, tonight k it’s time for The Game to make the rules. And what Triple H has in mind spells nothing but hurt for his WrestleMania XXIV opponents, Randy Orton and John Cena.

Two weeks ago, Raw General Manager William Regal announced a Triple Threat Takeover, allowing each of the three men involved in the WWE Championship Triple Threat Match to arrange their opponents’ bouts for one week. That night, on John Cena’s command, Triple H was forced to battle reigning WWE Champion Randy Orton. Last week, The Cerebral Assassin was pushed into a match with his WrestleMania XV opponent, Kane, compliments of Orton.

Tonight, however, Triple H has arranged a match pitting Cena & Orton against the entire Raw roster. (No, really. It’s true!)

What the hell does this mean? Having suffered through two weeks of his opponents’ will, can The Game capture the momentum in the weeks leading up to the greatest stage in all of sports-entertainment?

In other action, Chris Jericho returns to Raw as the new Intercontinental titleholder after defeating former champion Jeff Hardy. Tonight, Y2J will kick off Raw with The Highlight Reel and he will have a huge guest - Big Show!

What will Show have to say about his encounter last week with his WrestleMania XXIV foe, Floyd "Money" Mayweather? The animosity between the two flooded the arena last week when The World’s Largest Athlete grabbed the WBC welterweight champion after their weigh-in, lifted him overhead and tossed him over the top rope causing Mayweather to injure his elbow. Will Mayweather be able to continue with their match?

For answers to these questions and more, tune in to Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT on USA network.

Looks like London and Kendrick are going their separate ways now. I wouldn't be shocked if one of them will be released in the near future, or most likely, be moved to another brand if there's a draft next month.

Sucks to see Londrick get split up. They never did anything with them, but at least when they did, you got to see them both. Now they'll get, like, one Heat blow-off match and never be heard from again.

I would be hard-pressed to find something that will top that as Segment of the year. I laughed for a good 5 minutes at that wonderful segment.

Im getting a little tired of all the wrestlers doing the point to the Wrestlemania banner. Its getting annoying. Its good once or twice but not 4 times a show. Overkill.

Overall, not much to raw this week, save for the hilarious antics of Santino and his Daniel Plainview actions regarding the King's subway sandwich.

I like the idea of the “Money In the Bank” preview with Punk taking on Carlito. I bet we get at least two more of those type of matches this week.

The little Snoop Dogg promo was great with Santino holding the cue cards. They really have just done wonders with him.

I don’t know what Brian walking out mean for the team of London & Kendrick. They haven’t been around much and then for Kendrick to just walk out seems so very wrong to me. So was that vicious Samoan Spike London got, but that’s beside the point.

Triple H was exerting a lot more authority than Cena or Orton did with the threats against the WrestleMania status of his two opponents. William Regal clearly did not have that in mind. At least Triple H acknowledged he didn’t like how it felt to be given a belt.

It would have been cool to be there to see Vince McMahon get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At first I thought he was too much in character, but by the end and the Kermit the Frog comment, I think he struck a good balance.

After the way Flair yelled at HBK, you think Shawn would have gotten the message to stay out of his match with Vince. I guess it’s good that he didn’t but I expect to see the two talk about it yet this week.

 I can’t believe Santino stole Lawler’s sub. That was a gift from Jared! Was there a match before that or something?

Sometimes when you’re in there with Big Show the goal should be to survive and Chris Jericho survived with his Intercontinental Title intact. Barely.

I liked the backstage segment with Orton & Cena (plus Triple H). It really set the tone for what was to come.

My personal main event highlights were Val Venis’s “awww come on!!” face and JBL running from Umaga. Even if it makes the others look a bit weak, I did enjoy seeing Orton & Cena work together and how quickly they took out some of their opponents. The RKO is a lot more effective for doing that than anything Cena has.

From the moment the match was announced, about the only thing more predictable than Orton & Cena dominating the RAW roster was Triple H coming out to beat both of them down and stand over both of them with the title.

In case you’re scoring at home “the entire RAW roster” did not included Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Paul London, Mr. Kennedy, the little used Drew McIntyre and the injured Rory McAllister (in addition to the Divas, inactive/semi-active members of the RAW brand and of course, Jeff Hardy).

Doing this in green for St. Patrick's Day. I'm 1/4 Irish. I'm entitled.:D

Looks to me like they're planting seeds for Y2J to turn heel now that he has the IC title. Right now, that's a move that shouldn't be made, considering that Jeff Hardy, whom Jericho beat last week, is gone until May (suspended), maybe longer.

I shouldn't be surprised they brought Colin Delaney over to be fed to J-Me-L. I had envisioned him being fed to Umaga instead, but, meh. After all the work that's been done to make him look legit the last couple of weeks, Goofwitz undoes it by having him squashed yet again.

All along, I had believed that Vince McMahon should be the last opponent for Ric Flair. It should be Flair-McMahon at Wrestlemania, but now we know why HBK gets the nod. Geritol must've declined the offer to sponsor the streetfight match, for one thing, and for another, Vince has proven time and again that his best days as a fighter were sometime in the last decade.:D

I don't understand the logic of Kendrick walking out on his partner. Self preservation is one thing. Getting squashed is another. Goofwitz screws up again.

Naturally, the best match on the show was the first one. CM Punk perhaps is being showcased for a possible draft relocation next month. Carlito looked good hanging in there with Punk, and even debuted a hesitation dropkick in the corner.

I guess we're going to get Lawler-Marella III next week. Maria got it right. Santino is cuckoo. Not only is Santino jealous, but also a petty thief, and a pathetic one too.

Not only that, but he got squashed in nothing flat by John Cena. Karma, baby!:D :D :D :D

How much ya wanna bet Cena & Orton will be tag team champs before the year is out?

Mr. Kennedy was probably still selling the beatdown he took last week. If Jericho isn't there next week, it'll be because of the concussion he got from that KO punch from Big Show. 2nd best match on the show.

If the final scene with HHH standing over Cena & Orton looked familiar, well, they played it out 3 weeks ago!

That is so true. I called it last week too. I'm happy I got right but I'm also disappointed that I got it right.

A Colin Delaney sighting on Raw that was awesome too bad he was squashed by JBL.

The Punk Carlito match was good, it was a little short but good. Carlito sold the GTS perfectly.

I think I understand why Kendrick walked out on London. Since London has been m.i.a. for weeks Kendrick had been relegated to jobbing so maybe it's the creatives way of showing Kendrick resenting London. I wonder if this will become an actual storyline but who knows.

As for the main event it felt rushed. They should have given it at least 15 minutes or so because the beginning of the match was great and then it fell apart when they rushed to the dq ending. Maybe they rushed it so that Triple H would get his time on the spotlight as always.

We have an injury coming out of Raw.

From WWE.com (http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/articles/6065640/candiceinjured0317)

LAFAYETTE, La. – WWE Diva Candice Michelle injured her left shoulder tonight during her tag team match with Maria against Jillian and Victoria on Raw Monday, WWE.com has learned. Candice has been sent to a Lafayette medical center for X-rays.

“Candice has pain in her left clavicle area,” said WWE Athletic Trainer Chris Brannon.

Her shoulder is iced down and is immobilized. She was sent in for X-rays to rule out a fracture.”

Last October, Michelle broke her left clavicle during her match against WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, forcing her to miss five months of action. This was Candice’s first live-action since that injury.

Ashley gets hurt, Candice gets hurt. Am I the only one noticing a pattern?

I have to admit, Vince vs. Flair was fairly entertaining, despite the pretty slow second half of the match where it was basically Vince trying different things on him. Something about Flair fighting someone who was actually in his age class felt more "right" than most of Flair's matches lately.

When the whole Kendrick walking out on London thing occurred, was I the only one yelling at JR and King for not mentioning it at all. At least Regal said something about it from backstage, but it seems wrong and indicative of the tag scene for the announcers to not mention a partner walking out on a match to leave his partner to be destroyed.

I'm not surprised Candice hurt her shoulder. It seemed that she was rushing her moves a lot during that match. But kudos for effort. At least she isn't afraid to take bumps like some of the other divas I've seen.

Jericho got knocked the blank out! to quote Chris Tucker from Friday :D .

Nice move by having all of Mayweather's promos taped. I guess they're still trying to get us to believe he is going to be a face by mentioning how tough his life was growing up.

I'm also glad that they had Cena mention the reasons why he hates Orton. I'm also glad that HHH mentioned that he didn't want another title handed to him. I'm also glad that at some point the other guys on the lockerroom side said enough with this nonesense and just ganged up on Cena and Orton. It would have looked terrible if every single guy got beaten by them.

Vince vs Flair was an okay street fight. I'm glad that they mentioned that this career threatening angle was all Vince's fault in the first place.

All in all, a pretty good show. I guess made better since I haven't read any spoilers or anything from the internets all week.

But what about Bunnymania!?!?!?!?!?

Oh, yeah. I have little to no care about that match.

Still sucks to see her get hurt. I may not be the biggest fan of hers, but she always seems like a pretty nice person, and she at least tries, so I have to give her credit.
