I feel sorry for her...on most nights in most other tournaments, she is probably the best skater in the world...but she always seems to choke in the Olympics. :(
I don't think she's gonna win a gold until she's 29 and becomes the underdog at this rate...

Exactly what I was thinking LLJ! I didn't see the competition, but I just read it on espn.com. Somehow, I knew she wasn't going to win the gold again. Apparently, Olympic gold isn't in her destiny.

I wanted her to win the gold, but I had an itching feeling it wasn't going to happen. Sarah Hughs had a wonderful performance though. She definitely had the strongest skate that night. :) Kwan I think had bad timing with the Olympics. Her peak was at age 15 when she was at the top of her game. Before then, she was too young and inexperienced at 13 to compete at Lilehammer, and at 17 in Nagano, she was trying to get back to that point when she was 15. She also had new sensation Tara Lipinski outdoing her, as well as other younger skaters coming into the sport strong. If anything, she does have a long history behind her and she is USA's most decorated ladies figure skater. She's had a good career and gained a lot of admiration and respect too. :)
P.S. The announcers overdid the Nagano game reference whenever they talked about Kwan too. :p

Is Tara Lipinski still around? I'm not up with the times.

Lepenski is still around officially, but I don't think she's in the olympics this year.
Poor Kwan. Is it simple coincdedence or fate that keeps her from winning a gold? :P
Nah, really, I feel for her. To lose twice a chance fr the gold...>.< Maybe next time.

Lipinski cut out of skating while she was ahead. She's enjoying all the licensing profits she's been getting since she won the gold 4 years ago.
Kwan, OTOH, I can see her doing this for another 10 years if need be. 21-26 is still young IMO, but when you're 30+, the chances of winning a gold in figure skating are slim to none.
