Newtype released on 3/10 will announce a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann movie.

Not sure if this is new news, but it's new to me.

This is news to me (and great news). Now if only ADV would start releasing the series.

I don't know, just where I got the news from. Maybe an epilogue of sorts? Not too sure. It might just be a Trigun Movie-like thing. Who knows. D: I can't wait though.

Great, but how?, the protaqgonist is an old man by the end of the series, i cant see him saving the world, unless Virals the protagonist (who's immortal and doesnt grow old).

Even if it's afterward... I know 40 might be "ancient" by most anime standards, but it could still be done. :p

Perhaps that OVA rumor about Nia or Lord Genome is true.

But who cares about them. I want a better interpretation of Garlock.

I added it to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tengen_Toppa_Gurren_Lagann).

Found this on another site:

Via Moon Phase and Kadokawa’s exhibitor entry at the Tokyo International Anime Fair website: according to the April edition of Newtype magazine (on sale March 10th), a theatrical version of the Gurren Lagann TV anime is currently in the planning stages of production. No details of the project are currently known, but Moon Phase speculates that it might be similar to the Top wo Nerae! theatrical release in that it would combine new animated sequences with brushed up material from the TV series to present a condensed version of the story. We’ll keep an eye on this as further information comes to light. (no more)

My reaction is meh. I love Gurren Lagann, and it's probably one of my favorite anime ever, but I just don't see the need for a theatrical recap. New material please.

I really hope that's not the case either. No more Evangelion rehashes please.

Well, it's only speculation. I hope it's wrong too.

I don't see how it is possible to condense a series that is already so condensed. I just can't see them telling the whole Gurren Lagann story in only two hours.

I just can't see them telling the whole Gurren Lagann story in only two hours.Episode 16 + an extra half hour, and you have the whole thing in 60 minutes. It'll be absolutely incomprehensible to new viewers and astoundingly cheap in both senses of the word. Toss in a minute of new animation, spread throughout, and show most of that in trailers. Release to theaters, collect profit. :p
