Well, as I post this, Blazing Sadles is on CC, and Robin Hood Men In Tights is on ABC Family...so

What's your favorite Mel Brooks film?

Bonus points if you can tell me which of Brook's 11 films was left off... =O

"Only one man could give me a raspberry, and that's....Lonestar...... "

It's gotta be Spaceballs!

How could you leave "The Twelve Chairs" off the list but leave in "Dracula: Dead and Loving it"? It's not his most popular movie but it's definitely better.

There's also the remake of "To Be Or Not To Be," which he didn't direct, but is an essential addition to the Mel Brooks movie library.

Blazing Saddles, despite the fact that it contains more racial slurs than your average KKK meeting.

Spaceballs is good...but not THAT good... I agree. Everyone I've met who knows a moderate amount about Mel Brooks claims that Spaceballs is his greatest work ever. I ask "What about Young Frankenstein?" and they say "Never seen it."

I'm between The Producers, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein.

You should see The Twelve Chairs, it's very good.

My god! That's a very hard question, but I had to go with Spaceballs. Even though Blazing Sadles and Robin Hood: Men in Tights are very close with it.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

The only reason not to like this is by not seeing it. I loved how all of the characters were in the movie. In fact I find myself doing somethings from this movie in everyday life.

I voted for Young Frankenstein. Well-cast and, according to Leonard Maltin, "One of the funniest (and most quotable) movies of all time." Usually, he's out of line with some of his reviews, but this time, he hit the nail on the head.

I love all of Brooks' films (the ones I've seen; I have yet to see HotW: Pt. 1, Life Stinks and The 12 Chairs). I love how all of them are so very quotable, as well as the humor, the actors and the terrific scores (by John Morris, and then, starting with RH: MiT, Hummie Mann). 'Tis a pity that Brooks has all but retired from filmmaking, but given the success of Broadway's The Producers, I think he has done enough in film. At least we have his movies.

To me, it's a toss-up between "Silent Movie," "Blazing Saddles" & "HOTW Part I." Seriously though, If you think Marty Feldman isn't funny, than you have no taste for slapstick. :D

If any of you are fans of Gene Wilder, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, and the type of humor in Young Frankenstein, do whatever you can to find yourselves a copy of The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother, written and directed by Wilder. A sorely underappreciated film.

I would say Blazing Saddles was his best film. But I voted for Spaceballs because I was just the right age for that when it came out. We watched that to death and it was my intro to Brooks.

I voted for dracula dead and loving it. Robin hood was probably my favorite, but I'm too big a leslie nielson fan to let that one slide.

Alright...I'm gonna slip into Old Fart mode...

Kids these days have no sense of good from bad....

Dracula Dead & Loving it was a silly film....but frankly, it sucked. There are times when having a person's realtive age next to their name qould be damn useful...cause Brook's older films were filled with so much humor at various levels...which desolved into the silly drivel of his later films. I really do recomend you go watch the films at the top of the poll....(and try to find them in the video store, not the edited for TV Drek...)

Blazing Sadles, with Young Frankenstien right behind it. Spaceballs is good, but these are classics. And Dom Delouise (sp?) was friggin hilarious at the end of Blazing Sadles...
