I'm glad to hear it's coming back, I love that show.

Ugh, this Fairly Odd Parents rip-off is back. The world probably would be a better palce without it.

Wow, I'm cynical today.

Yay! Glad to see the show's coming back. I only started watching it a couple of months ago but got into it pretty quick.

What I'd like to see this year:

More Agent K!

Pardon my cliché response, but… What?!

With all due respect, I can’t quite understand how you came to your conclusion. The two shows are quite different.

It has the same sort of humor. But so Doesn't..err..Didn't Johnny Test, as it was created by someone who worked on FOP for a while. I forget if someone who worked on FOP actually works on Replacements (other than the voice actor of the father), but if that's the case, no wonder why the humor is similar.

Personally, I'd kill to see these new episodes on ABC kids, but they clearly don't care about that or ENS, and just rerun the same shows constantly. And they still get great ratings? Brain hurts!

Replacements isn't a great show, but none the less, a fun show to watch.

I don't see too much of a difference between the two. Both have the same baisc plotline (bratty kid, in TR's case, kids, gain the ability to change the envirnoment around them for the better, but frequently miss use their powers), have the same type of humor (hit-or-miss fast-paced gags recycled so on and forth), have hard-on-the-eyes designs, and have a by now par-the-course moronic father added in as well. It's just that FOP happens to have(er, make that had) an emotional bond between Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda that amkes it's apparent shortcomings at least bearable, but The Replacement's doesn't.

I understand that the series can be somewhat formulaic, but you’ve neglected to consider the fact that Fleemco isn’t always involved in the stories. There are several episodes where Conrad isn’t capable of helping Todd and Riley, and several other episodes have only used replacements in minor scenes, in order to make a joke or advance the plot. You claim that the series doesn’t have emotional connections, but it does. Sure, Todd and Riley may not always treat their parents in a respectable manner, but there are many episodes where you can genuinely get a sense of their feelings. However, you have to remember that they were orphans. That’s brutal and it’s not something you see often in animated programs. Timmy Turner may have had parents, but his parents never died. Todd and Riley were living at an orphanage until they used Fleemco to get a new family, and several episodes in the series have really used their orphan status to tug at one’s heartstrings. The scene in “London Calling”, when the two of them embraced their grandmother and mentioned that they never had grandparents before, was an exceptional scene and it was rather sentimental.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. However, I do wish people would avoid such generalizations as you’ve described. Every show is different. I’m tired of people saying that one show is a rip-off of another show. If you dislike something, that’s great. You can have your cake and eat it too. We don’t mind. But don’t run around blatantly accusing it of ripping off another show when you have no factual evidence to support your theory.

I'm happy that the show is back, but does the new season have to premire at 2:30 in the afternoon!? That just isn't right.

Indeed. That is what concerns me. Brandy & Mr. Whiskers got similar treatment with its new episodes, and it was cancelled.

This is terrific news.

And even the worst "Replacements" episode is more watchable than "Fairly Oddbaby".

Same here; wasn't London Calling supposed to be the first second-season episode?

But I'm actually kinda looking forward to the actual second season; I really want to see how their new character design turned out (it was mentioned months ago)...

I always thought London Calling was the season one finale. And new character design? I gotta see that.

I've seen a commercial for the new season and they do look different and yet they don't. The basic design is still there. One difference is their noses don't stand out from the rest of their faces like last season.

The 'real' second season hasn't aired yet. Characters, backgrounds, and color have been re -designed, though not so much as to stray too far from the first season.

Good. I wouldn't want it to be like AD:JL, where the seasons looked like two seperate shows.

In all fairness, that exact plotline existed long before that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doraemon). But I can see where the same style of humor works in. I still want to know if anyone who previously worked on the show works on this one.

I actually got to catch a sample of what is coming in The Replacements S2, on March 10th and amazingly they kept everyone pretty much the same, in terms of body shapes and what not, but there is one distinct difference. except for the eyes and the noses everyone still looks the same. There's no Radical deviation from the original idea that we saw in S1 (Unlike say Jake Long S2 deviating from S1).

Riley and Todd's noses are now like Dick's and Kay's..(They're more human.. and the eyes? Well you are right.. no more dots. full eyes.

But I would say S2 might actually have a shot at actually working.. Think about it. Whole 22 minute plots instead of two 11 minute viginettes. Ideas that are a bit off the wall, but actually.. funny... Is it me or is it that all new shows of both The Emperor's New School and The Replacements actually have indeed gotten.. better?

And if this is a FOP ripoff.. where's Cosmo and Wanda in all of this? (Hello, Fleemco!)

That it would.

Benedict Disney really lacks quality animation now, that's for sure.

I saw a preview of the second season and it looks kind of ok. Any one know if there will be a main villain or some thing?

Well if they did have a villain in Season 2 (and that is if they did), Then I would say the best one of choice would be Master Pho (From Season 1's Master Pho, Episode). Why? Well for starters, Pho actually vowed he would return (and this would be a good place to get him established. And considering that both (Agent) Kay and Todd Daring had defeated him, it would be only logical that Pho returning would be the best answer for this.

As for other characters returning, Maybe the Evil Carny could come back and give some grief as well, but I feel Pho is more of a villain than this guy could ever be..

Other than these two, most of Todd and Riley's enemies are already in School. (Donnie Rotweiler for Todd, and Sierra for Riley).

Another angle for the show to go on, is maybe to have Riley from time to time when she can, go on missions with her mom (Maybe another episode where this time we can see Riley maybe be an asset to Kay).

but what other ideas could there be?

Well, in a preview for a commerical I saw, Riley was parachuting with Agent K and screaming, so we may actual see her going on a mission with her mom, instead of a reference to one. From the artwork of this new season, the characters have an older, retro feel. The characters look older for sure...I say 2 or 3 years. It uses a darker palette of colors now, so this could be interesting. The longer stories might mean better storytelling and some awesome character delevopment. I say I am ready to see this series, but in would have to be on my Disney West Coast Feed, since episodes premire at 2:30 on a Monday. Disney Channel: Good cartoons...bad airtimes for them.
