Personally I would love to see this. The more this show relates to Batman, the better chance it has of surviving in my view. And since Batman/Bruce Wayne has left the city for the time being, it only makes sense that Alfred would need something to do.
What do you people think?
It looks like a pre-Joker Harley could be in the show as well. Thoughts? Other people that they're missing?

I agree.Alfred being in it is cool,But that batman thing bugs me...I mean, I'd settle for his SHADOW..there'd never have to be an actor in the suit....never have to BE a suit...just...the shadow of him...
anyway..I like the way this is turning out now...at least Alfred's gonna be in it.I really wish they'd stick a costume hero in it though..I'd settle for Batgirl(Cain)/Nightwing... :bosko:

I'm thinking that long term many costumed characters, both good and evil will be making apperances. Maybe The Penguin could run the Iceburg Lounge is BoP Gotham? ;)

Aye, I think Harley's in it. Catwoman makes a cameo at the beginning of the premiere and -gulp- dies .

you evil woman...you...you..you spoiled it!! :p :D
So, they're killing off major ppl just so they don't have to cast anybody in their rolls? I suppose that's wise....NOT!

While not dealing specifically with Alfred, Zap2it.com had the following bit of information about BoP at http://tv.zap2it.com/news/tvnewsdaily.html?24046.
Elsewhere, Roselyn Sanchez ("Rush Hour 2" ) will star in NBC's pilot "Miss Miami," about a Latina police officer in the title city, and Shemar Moore ("The Brothers" ) has joined the cast of The WB's comic-book adaptation "Birds of Prey."
I found information about Moore at http://us.imdb.com/Name?Moore,+Shemar. Any ideas on who he could be playing?

he might be one of the police officers..OR..he could be Nightwing. He wouldn't be all that bad of a fit actually...

Hopefully the writers won't start thinking this is "Charlies Angels" and decide to use Alfred as "Bosley".
I think there's a LOT they can do with this show. And have fun doing it. But IMO the girl doing Black Canary is way too frail looking.

Is that a spoiler? It happens right at the beginning of the series and is something the whole show is based on and they'll mention it again and again (Apparently, Helena has issues with her "mother" dying). It's exactly like how Batman won't be in the show. Is that considered a spoiler? Still.... I'll fix that right quick :P

ahhh..hmm..I never read the comic series....lol.
But, even in the comic series, Batman's in it (I know that because of cross overs)!

I was talking about the TV series. In the TV series, Helena (The Huntress) is the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle.

It would be neat if ol' Al was in BOP, then it wouldn't seem like such a bad show. It may suck, it may not. I'm just a bit wary with the fact of how much they're really playing around with characters personalities and histories and such. All shows adapted from something do that, but I don't want this to ruin BOP. But, in the end, I'll probably end up liking it...if they don't completely bomb it that is. If they brought Nighty into the series, and didn't screw him up too badly, I would be a very very happy gal.

Unless of course they've changed the script, which I sincerely hope they did.

It's going to be shown primetime with the big leagues.. any predictions as to which show this will replace?? im gonna guesse glory days cause i never got into it...

The last I read, The WB is not renewing Felicity. SO it's a good replacement, The more I think about the show, the more I kinda like it. Mainly because this could in crease Comic sales. Although they are diffrent, people that don't usally read the books, may be inclined to do so.
The biggest thing is the Hunterss's background. I don't mind the Earth 2 version, but that is just not what she is. Oh well, any Batman show that gets air time will be good for him.

Im sorry, but I can't go along with this one. For Numerous reasons, I hope this Show Never Comes out.
I think it's Biggest, dumb mistake is seperating itself from Batman.
Which ONCE again, creates ANOTHER alternate reality of the DC universe, that makes everything very cluttery.
My second main reason is, why the birds of prey characters??? Sure I like them too, but for a TV show, they're just not thinking straight. They're a more than a Few RIPE choices for a TV show, NOT counting Batman himself that would make a way better TV show.
And Lastly what urks me is, contrary to what others may think. But this "aint" smallville, people. This show wont be primetime, on a weekday. This is a show that is made to come on Saturday or Sunday, on the WB, or UPN, something along the lines of mutant X, Xena, the Lost World, and Beast Master. And with that said, I HATE THOSE SHOWS. And all shows like those. And I'd hate for the Birds to be wasted like that. BOP should be made into a TV show, well After some other Bat-related TV show is well established first, and then the show will have lots to work with.
Same effect the comic book has. It's that simple.

the reason they picked it up is becayse smalleville is giving them such record ratings so why wouldnt they put it primetime? btw i HIGHLY doubt UPN will get this.

yeah, I'm pretty sure it's being made for the WB....I don't see why WB would let go of a potentially good show to UPN....

they let go of Buffy but its because they didnt want to pay so much for a series plus Buffy wasnt being made by The WB i believe Fox had the rights or whatever... This show is being made by them.

I don't believe they will... if there's any Bosley-like "team leader" it's Babs.
From what I can find out, Alfred only will appear in one scene (if at all), where he brings young Dinah her things when she wakes up in the morning, makes sure she's okay, or something like that. He also then has a conversation with Barbara about how Dinah is different from herself or the Huntress, right after that scene.
