This is the talkback thread for Bandai Entertainment and Kadokawa USA Announce "Lucky Star" Vol. 1 (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=21872).
Excellent, looks like it's getting Haruhi-style treatment.

Wow, what could they planning to put into that special edition for such a price?
In any case, good. Now I count the days until Geass and Toward the Terra get announced...

I don't know what they could be including for the Limited Edition version, but it had better be a lot of stuff and/or damn good stuff at that high price!
Otherwise I'll just stick with the regular edition of LS.

They'll probably include things like pillow cases and CDs with the special editions. Maybe they include the ED song collections with at least one volume's special edition.

The SE DVD cover is full of awesome

apparently it's going to have one of those Haruhi SE type boxes where the panels flip open. I'm guessing there will be two of those since Lucky Star will be twice as many volumes.

"Motteke Sailor Foku" Opening CD
Konata Character CD
Girl's School Uniform (Winter) Print T-Shirt
Chocolate Cornet Screen Wipe
Alternate DVD Cover (First image posted)
I'm guessing the chocolate cornet is the one Konata is eating and the chocolate oozes out, I don't get how it's a screen wipe though.
Girl's School Uniform? uhh...

I guess with a cover like that, anyone can start drawing anime series covers.

It should come with an entire box of Choco-cornet :p
Or at least a receipe or something for making 'em :p

I'm glad they didn't go for the scribble artwork for the regular editions. They would serve better as reversable covers.

Sigh. Looks like my reply didn't go through the other day. In a nutshell here's what I had said.
Don't like the cover on the SE version.
Ummm. Don't care about the T-shirt since I'm a guy.
Don't care about the Chocolate Cornet screen wipe.
But everything else the SE comes with I do like.
However, I just can't justify spending that much on it, even after you figure in the standard retailer discounts. So either I'll buy the regular edition or maybe have my family get me the SE set as a birthday or Christmas gift.

If I were to get this, I would just get the regular edition.

More money for Bandai means more licensing from them. I think Bandai is getting the gist of getting the shows they know people will pony up for.

I'd buy a Special Edition for an anime DVD of only 4 episodes of that kind of price only if it had a small bottle of a liquer with solid gold flakes.
Still, it's pretty nice.

I guess I'm in the minority when I say that I like the Special Edition cover. I though it'd be obvious that it's meant to be amusing. However, I'll probably get the regular edition. Because...it's cheaper. lol

I'd pay extra to have the regular edition DVD with the SE cover.
And I haven't even seen Lucky Star.

If I were into the show, I'd very much like a first box like that one. Besides I'm sure it'll preorder for like 50 bucks, which isn't too bad for that much gear.

Considering this is my #1 favorite anime, I'm certainly buying the special editions.
