The AniGen split has happened.
As discussed in the other "Important" thread above, AniGen has been split in two: The AniTainment Board, devoted to the discussion of animation, film, televion, music and books, and a new "community" board. You are now looking at the community board.
Not every "anitainment"-appropriate thread has been moved to the new board, only those discussions that had been active within the past day or two. The remaining threads will continue to be housed in AniGen for the time being, although over time we do hope to gradually sort through the old AniGen archives and move the appropriate threads to the new board.
In the meantime, any threads that are revived (or begun) here that have their proper place on AniTainment will be moved over there with a redirect left behind. To follow a moved thread to its new location, just click on the "redirect" thread here in AniGen.
As for this board: For the time being it still has the old background and the old banner, although we hope to make changes there as well. For the time being we have tweaked the name to "AnyGen," just to set it off a bit. This is the place for discussions of sports and games and other fun-time activities, as well as the Avatar contests and discussions about your life and problems.
And although we will still accept off-topic posts, we are not going to be quite as tolerant as we were before. AniGen was getting to be like a chat-room, and we're not going to let that happen again.

In the meantime we do want to come up with a new name for the place. So that will be the first important order of business. Once we have a name we can get a banner, and an appropriate background, a few drapes, and maybe a shrubbery with a little path in between. We're accepting nominations and discussion.

Hrm, well, I say call it "The Lounge" although that may be too informal, I dunno.
But hey, a lounge is where you meet ppl, watch tv, share some drinks...etc.

For a background you could have a shot of Earth from space ... the idea being we are a community because it's a small world.

We're gonna be working on that, Mattashell. We just gotta do some fine tweakin' and the like, first. Just give us sometime and all will be fixed, tweaked, and looking 100%!
Since the other board is called AniTainment, why not just keep it AniGen?

It's pretty simple actually. Well, the actual physics and umm quantum-astral--physio-mechanical properties are absolutely mind-boggling, but in laymen's terms:

It's in the process of being added in science testbooks across the country. :p

Since this board no longer covers Animantion, I dont think we can use Ani in the title names. Gen is what we want to keep in the name, if at all possible.

Well you guys could bash me, but The Penguin's suggestion The Iceberg Lounge is my favorite so far. I know this isn't a Batman board, but I don't think that would be good name for it if it was. I know it's a minor reference to that show, but this IS the World's Finest, isn't it?
The name, The Iceberg Lounge, just sounds so cool, like a classy joint where great minds come together to discuss their intellectual persuits and life's great philisophical questions (Funky Colored Food).
