Seriously, though. This is the official WF board dedicated to the discussion of animation, film, television, music, and books. Consider it just like the old "AniGen" board before it was overwhelmed with "community" -style posts.

The mods are: Jim Harvey, Nightwing, The Mad Hatter, Bird Boy and Vince Benenati. I, Maxie Zeus, am filling in temporarily while the board is being set up.

You'll notice that parts of it look very familiar: The banner (courtesy of the quick, dependable and very talented Romey!) is a variation on the old AniGen banner, and the background is the AniGen background. It's not clear yet if either will be permanent; we do want to make the AniTainment board feel comfortable and inviting, and it takes over the more specific functions of AniGen. But we were planning on redecorating it anyway.

The new board comes well-stocked with recent threads, moved over from AniGen, so most of these should be conversations you can pick right back up again. We even cleaned out the gutters and pulled the "Simpson's Quote Quiz" down, where it had been stuck and forgotten.

Remember, this board does have a specific topic mandate (like the JL and Batman, Superman and Beyond boards), and off-topic posts will be moved.

I hope everypne enjoys it. Expect a new background here in a couple days (same goes for the AnyGen Board), and the background I'm hoping to use (courtesy of Vince) is nothing short of spectacular. This is definatly the shot in the arm this board needed, and I think good things are gonna come of this!

I don't know.

On one hand I think it's pretty cool and it should be a fun board.

On the other hand I'm beginning to think that there's too many boards around here.

I guess time will tell.

A lotta people have been joining Toon Zone recently. So either we have a lot of boards where they can space out, or we have a lot of people packed into a few boards. We couldn't really handle the latter, so we're giving the former a try.

Indeed, the population of our boards has been exploding lately... we're getting close to cracking 400 users online at once! So the choices came down to either putting up more boards, or giving the mods on existing boards so many threads to read they all get coronaries. I voted for option one. :p

This is pretty awesome! And you did it so fast too! It was like *blink*, hey, there's a new board! It was an really wonderful idea to split AniGen, since it was getting so many very general topics, they board needed to be defined more, and splitting it was just the thing!

Ahhh! The pleasure of browsing these board is back. All that community stuff was taking so much room it was hard to get to the real posts. It was just too much trouble to look through. Now we don't have to read that stuff until we're ready.

Hope it's not too much work on the mod squad.

Killer! You got a new avatar! Looks pretty cool! I, too, am liking the revamped feel of these boards. I wasn't a bit fan of most of the "gen" topics, and it is great not to have those to wade through anymore.

OOOhhh..nice background.....but it's hard to read the text...maybe yellow would be betterer...

I like it, I agree with Naraht that the text colour can become obscure and requires to be, ahem, 'betterer' - but aside from that, I think the brighter colour scheme sets it apart from the rest.

I hope this all works in a positive and productive manner. Now, I must depart and begin to sniff around the threads and see if anything tickles those proverbial taste buds...

The color scheme really balenced out--love the purple, gray, and blue (very calming)--but the name is a little...off. It sounds like "The Anti-tainment Board!"

I never thought the Anigen Board would get split, but it's kind of neat. Just what I need-more boards to browse! :rolleyes: ;)
