Who else actually likes Courage?

Those who havent seen it usually assume (from the awful cn commercials) that it`s just about a screaming dog and two old people. It`s actually about a screaming dog, two old people and a lot of monsters, aliens, robots, and escaped convicts. I find the overall style extremely artistic... it`s not very "funny", but it IS creative enough to be interesting. I also like how every episode has it`s own unique theme music.

My favorite one would have to be Freaky Fred... about the crazy barber who has a sick obsession with shaving people naked,(which he refers to as being "nauuughtyyy") and narrates his whole episode in rhyme.

"Hello, new friend, my name is Fred. The words you hear are in my head."

I also liked some of the other demented characters, like the Jeeves Weevil, Dr. Zalost, robot randy ("robots dont make... reindeer...") and that terribly eerie Doc Gerbil. (that music with the little girls repeating "It`s a gerbil`s woooorlllld" gives me the creeps!)

I was never really impressed with courage the cowardly dog. Its a whole lot better than some Cartoon Cartoons (e.g. Ed, Edd, and Eddy and Grim and Evil) but I don't like it that much. Two old people get into trouble, the dog who needs dental work screams, he saves the two old people, gets praised by the woman called stupid by the man and then ends. I have only seen about six episodes, but I haven't laughed at a single one. With animation like that it should at least be funny.

I like to laugh as much as anyone (it`s why I like family guy) but courage I like for its "artsy" feeling... The recent episode "tower of doctor zalost" (full half hour story) was nicely dark and dramatic...

I`m one of those types who likes student films and abstract art :)

I like Courage. Man...that's like the best cartoon cartoon out there. That Barber Eppy is the best!

Yup, I'm a big fan of the show... a few of the episodes have been a bit out there (the banana-halla episode, for instance) but still always enjoyed.

I only watch the show for a handful of episodes:

The Queen of the Black Puddle
The Goose Gods Must Be Crazy
Freaky Fred
The Chicken from Outer Space - the original, Oscar-nominated (!) short

Otherwise, this is one of the most one-note cartoons I've ever seen. It's good (based on the eps I mentioned), but I would never confuse it with great. Also, and I can't say this enough, Eustace must be destroyed!

BTW, shouldn't this have been moved to the "Cartoon Cartoons" board?
