I figured I'd make a topic for the real big game today. Animal Planet's 4th annual Puppy Bowl. It's in HD for the first time ever this year and will be running in a 3 hour loop from 3PM to 3AM EST today.
The official web page can be found at http://animal.discovery.com/tv/puppy-bowl/puppy-bowl.html and the starting lineup (http://animal.discovery.com/tv/puppy-bowl/starting-lineup/starting-lineup.html) is also up as well.
Don't forget to watch the kitty halftime show sponsored by Bissell.

Too bad I couldn't. Which is a damn shame, since I like dogs.

Today I was at a friend's house a couple hours before the Super Bowl and his sister was watching it. I'm like "What the heck is this?!"
I'm not a dog person, but man was that cute. I was particularly amazed at the level to which they took the concept. From the Kitty Half-Time Show (complete with confetti) to all the little cartoony people in the bleachers. Pure genius.
The Animal Planet logo is very Modernist. Or perhaps Minimalist. I'm not sure which. The sideways M sort of kills it, though. Logos are supposed to be easy to read. What was wrong with the old logo?

I hope that they made Michael Vick watch this instead of the Super Bowl.

I'm not much of a sports person, so while my dad was watching the Superbowl in another room, I was watching the Puppy Bowl for like three to four hours. I'm a dog person and I just love puppies. I have two puppies myself, even though they're really eleven but they don't act like more than six months old puppies. Anyway, these puppies were so adorable and I could just sit there and watch them during all of that time. The Puppy Bowl fits me quite more that sports and I watch it every year. The puppies are so cute and I just want to hug them as I watch them playing around the field. I love it when they're running around together and the Puppy Bowl Cam is such a cute feature. I also like it when a puppy is like digging through the water dish like they're trying to find something. That's just too darn cute.
I also got a chance to see the new Animal Planet logo. It does look interesting with how it is much bigger. It's at least different from most of the other logos, but I did like the other one better since it wasn't as big. Oh well. Still, whoever came up with the idea of the Puppy Bowl had an excellent idea. I hope that they continue with this tradition of playing the Puppy Bowl for many, many more years to come.

Well comparing all the other potential ideas that have been on Superbowl sunday's in the past and present, besides the Puppy Bowl there was on Disney/Jetix, "The Pucca Bowl" (With about 3-4 hours of nothing but Pucca), and Discovery Channel had a Mythbusters Marathon of well over 14 hours..
but hey watching puppies having fun playing is a lot better than watching a bunch of guys slamming themselves against one another.. (At least the Kitty Halftime show was cute!)
I hope next year we get Puppy Bowl V...

Another great year of the Puppy Bowl let's hope for Puppy Bowl V. Now about the new logo I like it but the sideways m is alittle too big. :zoidberg:

The "Puppy Bowl" is pretty adorable and a cute idea, but I can't imagine watching for it's entire duration. Seems like it'd get boring after more than a few minutes or so.
As for the new logo, I think it's ugly. I prefer the previous one.

I hope that they made Michael Vick watch this instead of the Super Bowl.Ooh, good one --- wish I'd thought of that. Perhaps you should change your screen name to Bones "Poetic" Justice.
I didn't realize the Puppy Bowl existed until this year when my sister told me that's what she would be watching. It sounds really, um, cute.
*sigh* You know what I really miss, though? The Butt Bowl. You know, with Beavis and Butthead. You could always go there at halftime if you wearied of Cirque du Soleil and wardrobe malfunctions, and they provided a clock in the corner of the screen so you could be sure to turn back by the start of the second half. It was a much better match, generally speaking, for the day's overall atmosphere of excesses of soda and pizza.
