I get really paranoid when I think about food poisoning. I usually am not that paranoid about food poisoning, but today, during first period, in my Family Consumer Science Class, I watched a video called, The Great Food Fight.
This movie really freaked me out. The movie featured scary sound effects, creepy drawings, and the food was... well let's just skip the food part. I have had a bad experience with food poisoning IMO. Once in the cafeteria, I ate some nasty hotdogs. Just about an hour later, I threw up all over the teacher's brand new rug. Not only was it embarrassing, but it was scary too. Ever since then, I have steered clear of the cafeteria food. I don't trust anything the cafeteria dishes out anymore. The movie I watched today really got me paranoid. What are your thoughts? Is anyone else as paranoid of food poisoning as I am?

The term "food poisoning" always made me laugh because it sounds so dark and twisted, like somebody has deliberately poisoned a particular food about to be eaten by someone they don't like--though I'm sure that's happened before--when most of the time it could just be something simple like it was merely undercooked and didn't kill all of the bacteria or something similar.
In any event, I've never experienced food poisoning and I've never given any thought to it when I sit down to eat something away from home. A friend of our's got food poisoning many years ago, but that's the only time I've ever known anyone who suffered from it.
I'm more paranoid about getting into a car accident with all the crap drivers that are out there than eating something that'll make me sick for the rest of the day.

I kind of am. I always hate when my mom tries to make me eat stuff that expired months ago. Like the other day she found some pizza sauce that expired years ago. I'm lucky that it was black inside so she bought a new jar.

Considering I have myself been a victim (accidentally, though), I am. I quit eating fish for the longest time.

Considering all the nasty stuff I've eaten in my college's dining hall without getting sick... eh, I'm not real concerned.
The one thing I am paranoid about food-wise is milk after it's expiration date. I keep milk in my mini-fridge and don't go through it fast enough to beat the expiration date but I'm always wondering how far I can go past it before it makes me sick

As a single guy not long out of college, I'm still amazed that i haven't given myself food poisoning!
Seriously though, I'm not too worried, although when BSE (or mad cow disease) was in full swing a couple of years ago, I did cut down on eating beef in restaurants. And I won't eat anything if it's past its expiration date.

Usually im not concerned about it, as long as I know where the food is from or where its made from. Sushi for example, I only eat in 3 or 4 places that I know its good. Not because im afraid of tainted sushi, but because I have high standards for sushi, and only a handful of places measure up.
I did experience food poisoning. Worst experience of my life. It completely crippled my body from the inside out. I was admitted to a hospital. The pain was so great, that I could not stand or sit, just lie down. If I tried to stand up, I would feel dizzy and I welt like I was going to faint. 24 hours later, I was back to normal. Not fun.

I actually had food poisoning for the past few days, so I took a three day vacation from work.

Yeah, I guess I get a little paranoid with the word "food poisoning". Nothing major but sometimes it concerns me....

As much as I eat, and the questionable stuff I've eaten, I'm not.
