Exactly.

I am a comic/toon fan from way back. The Scorpion doggedly pursued Spiderman until he (Spiderman) could hardly breath...several times.

I find it amusing that some of the younger generation thinks Spiderman's toughest opponents are Venom and Carnage.:sweat: In truth even J. Jonah Jameson's robot and Willo the Wisp were tougher opponents in some ways than Venom and Carnage were. The Sinister Six had several members that gave Spiderman all he could handle, but all most people can remember is Venom and Carnage.

EDIT: The Scorpion was created for one purpose...to destroy Spiderman...that was his only agenda (prior to eventually becoming the 3rd Venom). The previous Venom(s) and Carnage had other agendas, they were not focused on destroying Spiderman 24-7 like the Scorpion was.

Mainly because some people still choose brawn over brain. Not that the Scorpion is a genius, but with him you have that predator aspect with makes him a worthy opponent.

Granted I hear that the Rhino isn't the mindless thug some may paint him as, I haven't read enough Rhino stories to be aware of his intelligence. Could you provide some examples?

Scorpion was only a challenge to Spider-Man for a very short while, even when Scorpion wore the parent alien Spider-Man outpunched him and made him bite the sorrow of his black eyes while Spidey get so less injuries
