Who do you think is the most evil character in all of animation. List as few, or as many as you like. They can be any type of character, from short, of fulll length......

My three choices are:

l. Queen in Snow White....Why she is willing to kill strictly for vanity, that someone else is fairer than her.

2. Dreg----Aliens who blow up earth, in Titan AE, because of their fear of some other type of beings haveing some kind of knowlege that they might abuse, without consulting those beings to find out what they are

3. Ivestigator, ( ?) in Iron Giant, who is wiling to start a Nuculear War over an unknown entity, who he assumes is dangerous, but makes no effot to find out the truth..Perhaps the entity might be neutral, or excetionally helpful.

Eric Magnus Lensherr, a.k.a. "Magneto". He was formerly Charles Xavier's friend, but while one believes man and mutant can live in harmony, the other seeks to crush mankind because he sees them as an ignorant threat. Depending on continuity, this belief is fueled either by seeing the horrors of WWII as a medic, by his youth in one of Hitler's camps, or his wife abandoning him affter he used his powers to save her from drowning. In this he's a very sympathetic villain, but one wonders why he expresses his pain in such a vile, tyrranical manner. Even when he wishes to be benevolent, such as his Asteroid M project, his anger blinds him, and he is easily subverted and even betrayed. He became dangerously unstable and even murderous in later years, and Charles was forced to take drastic action with his old friend--a total catatonic mindwipe.

Hmm... I'd have to say:

Thrax.

The whole point of his being was to take out his current host faster than the previous one. Vicious, cruel, and vile.... what more can you ask for?

--in The X-Men, all incarnations (animated series, comics, movie). Though his backstory changes somewhat over time, which is why I'm waiting for the Evolution writers to give us a good look into his head (they didn't, really, with "The Cauldron", which disappointed me).

Oldtoonman=I'm pretty sure that he's referring to Magneto from X-Men. True, technically a comic book villain, he has showned up in all the animated adaptations of the X-Men stories, including the current X-Men: Evolution.

Strangely enough, one of my votes goes to a comic-borne evil villain as well-The Joker. One needs to only look at him to know that you're talking to insanity personified. With a mobid fettish to have a little fun with crime while toying with the Dark Knight in the process. B:TAS and the first Batman feature are amongst my favorite portrayals of the character.

The other one is one that hits home in the Fanatic-to-the-Core department: Dr. Julian Kintobor, better known as Dr. Robotnik as well as Eggman. Gamewise as well as in the Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog cartoon and recently in the comics, he's not what one would call a serious villain: A chubby old man with a fettish to take cute little furry animals and turn them into his robotic slaves.

Its in the SatAM continuity (and to an extent, Sonic Underground), as well as the earlier pre-Sonic Adventure stories where his potencial as a ruthless villain shows through: A maniacal genius who took what would have been a great advancement in medical technology and turned it into a machine that replaces blood with oil, skin with cold metal alloys and minds with CPUs that rob one's free will of their actions and even feelings.

Rather creepy-sounding for a 'funny animal' show, ain't it?

BTW, Toast...who's Thrax?

Hmmm....

I'm going to say the Dreg from Titan AE is a good choice considering they just destroyed the earth and want to anhilate the entire human race.

Braniac from S:TAS. He could have cared less who got in his way - he just wanted their knowledge and nothing could get in the way of that goal.

Digimon - sorry if this offends anyone but this is one of my least favorite shows, bordering on completely evil. It was because of this show (and the reps at Fox at the time) that such great shows as Spidey Unlimited, The Magician, Xyber 9, Beast Machines, Godzilla, Silver Surfer and, to a lesser extent, the Avengers all meet their unfortunate end. Even if a couple of these shows were still on the air (esp. Xyber 9, Magician and Silver Surfer) I think Fox would be in a lot stronger position than it finds itself now.

-Joe!

As a Transhead, the first name that popped in my head is Megatron, but then I think.

Who is most evil, Megatron, Unicron, or the Quintisons.

Megatron, power mad, wants to rule over Cybertron and kill anyone who resists. When the Autobots attempt to escape, he persues them across the galaxy, just to kill them. On earth, centuries later, he is disgusted by biological life and continues to wage war on the Autobots and humanity all for the sake of dominating them.

The Quintisons, for no aparent reason, capture sentient beings, put them on trial for no specific charges, and ritually execute them wether they are found guilty or inocent. ("Do you wish to beg for mercy? It sometimes helps, but not often.")

Unicron, on the other hand, simply cruises the galaxy, devouring any inhabbited planet he comes upon.

I guess Unicron is truly most evil (of these three) he's in good company.

Darkseid: I mean he feeds on the suffering of other people, is looking for an equation that will give him control over all life, and he's just creepy.

Kagato 1st Tenchi OAV: My gosh that guy was just in it for like 2 or 3 eps yet he still managed to creep me out, if you ask me the 2nd version of him was a little weaker.

Joker: nuff said.

Hajime Saito from Kenshin: There's nothing this guy won't do and the fact that he's a cop makes it even worse.

Monty Burns--He tried to block out the sun, he took Lisa Simpson's good name and made it corporate (and unenvironmentally friendly), he never remembers Homer's name, and he tried to make vests out of dogs. That's evil, folks.

Cruella DeVille--Best Disney villain ever. Bar none. The animated one. (Sorry, Ms. Close)

Skeletor--Can't have a villain list without He-Man's nemesis.

Akio Ohtori--Revolutionary Girl Utena character. He deceived, seduced and connived his way into Utena's mind. And he also slept with her, to top it off. He also sleeps with his sister on the side. You can't get any worse than this guy.

Cobra from G. I. Joe, the leader of a Terroist organization. Goes perfect with today's world. A lot of the Disney characters are pretty evil as well.

Don't forget Shishio Makoto, he was pure evil. Heck, he took a bite out of Kenshin's arm!

I had forgotten about Braniac. A genius who destroys planets just for the knowledge collected, and kills all life...a truly great adversary of Superman...one of the few.

The Mad Hatter

Monty Burns popped into my head as well... I remember the episode where Lisa tried to convince him to make a good, eco-friendly corporation, yet he made it evil by "recycling" fish into slurry.

And nobody's mentioned the Joker? He regularly performs sick, demented acts with a sardonic smile. When presented at his worst like on ROTJ, he gives me the chills.

Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty" - my all-time favorite Disney villain. She rules!

Most definetly the Queen for Snow White, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and Cruella DeVille are the evilest woman. And Darkseid is just the most evil thing period.

Megatron? The ORIGINAL Megatron? Surely you jest. He pales in comparison to the Predacon that took his name.

The cartoon Megatron never really got that much accomplished. He was a cool villian IN.THEORY. But he just didn't do that much as a villian.

Beast Wars Megatron, on the other hand, new EXACTLY what he wanted, and went for it. He didn't waste his time on one plan after another. He attacked the Maximals every chance he got, and for everything that transpired, Megatron was ALWAYS one step ahead. When Optimus Primal was destroyed in 'Other Voices', it was because Megatron had planted a program in his pod episodes before. In 'The Agenda' Three-Parter, his motivations for stealing the Golden Disk, as well as all his other actions while on Earth, were revealed as Megatron breaks into the Ark, and fires away on Optimus Prime. I'd imagine that if Bob and Larry didn't have to worry about the toys, the following episodes would have played out MUCH differently.

Megatron was determined to succeed where his namesake failed, and he did quite nicely overall, I must say.

I believe full length animation might have taken an entirely different course, if this film was not economically successful..(perhaps no course) .Disney put every cent he had into it. Even his house was mortaged to complete it. He financed it almost completely himself. No one thought it would be economically successful, it was called Disney's Folly..(see Lenord Maltin's "Of Mice and Magic" for more info. No one thought anyone could sit thru a cartoon that long....
This is not the best movie, the queen may not be the most evil, but, if that film had faild miserably, like say Titan AE did, how many more full length animated films would there be? Disney's genius, story comprehension, editing, and over all boldness, created all the fun we have had with full length animated films. I believe that that film's success lies, not with Snow White, but the villian. And the Queen, was a great villian. Many others have tried their hand at full length animated films since Disney.. We all owe a lot to the Queen, even if we won't admit it. That is why I put her on top, and thanks for reading this...Stuart

Killer Croc, of course! All this dude cares about is himself and he doesn't make any bones about it. He'll do whatever he's got to do get ahead. Totally selfish. That's pretty evil if you ask me. He's one of the few characters that so realistically embody what's wrong with a lot of the evil people on this planet. But at the same time reminds of ourselves at our worst. That's why I chose him as my namesake. He is truly a raw slice of life.
