Anatomy's pretty wonky. Have you considered constructing the characters from skeletons first instead of just drawing them clean? It makes a world of difference.

No, I usually just try to get a general shape. I'll have to try it some time.

Hopefully this one is better.
It's supposed to be Ash after a battle and he's thinking about Paul... thus he is in the background. I was watching some freeze frames, but I think it's a little better. The smudge in the bottom right was supposed to be Pikachu, but it wasn't comming out right, so I scrached it (I tryed like 5 times, just didn't work :p )

So, what do you think?

You have a tendency to draw the characters with their arms and legs radically out of proportion to the rest of their bodies. I don't know if it's intentional, but if not, you might want to study the rules of scale a little more.
If you want, I can help you out - I can make you a model sheet that'll demonstrate how to construct the characters' bodies. I've studied the "Pokémon" style extensively, so I can draw Ash and the others pretty well.

Now that you mention it, it does seem that the arms and legs look a little weird. I knew something looked a little off, but I couldn’t figure out what at first. (No it’s not intentional)
And sure, I wouldn’t mind getting a little help.

I practiced drawing my favorite pokemon: Umberon.
I was watch my tape, and it still had "Ill-Will Hunting" on it, so I paused it at points so I could get a rough sketch of Gary's Umberon.

Not bad, although Brock seems a little shorter than usual. When I make your next model sheets, I'll send you a size relation chart too.

I found a little time in between homework and swimming to practice a little more.
(now if only I can get f***ing MySpace to upload my photo... it's talking FOREVER!)
Edit: OMG, I've tryed 5 times... still nothing...
Edit2: I got the photo uploaded [finally]...

Pretty good! The hands are a little small, though. (Oh, and I apologize for being so late on the model sheets - I'm a little swamped with DeviantArt-related projects at the moment.)

No need to worry. :p I've been swamped with homework. I'm getting a 3.0 right now, and for me that's really bad.

I've been practicing a lot, but still just front views. I think it almost second nature by now. I can do it without looking at the model sheet anymore, so I guess that's an improvement.
Well, here's some more.

Lol, I guess. I haven’t started coloring my pictures yet. I don’t think I have the right program on my computer to color them. I could always just use color pencils, but who knows where those are hiding in my house.
But I will take that as a compliment seeing how they must look real enough to be considered for a coloring book.

I have been a little busy lately, but I had plently of time yesterday to come up with a few sketches. This time, Lucario. 2 are eye ball traces (from Movie 8, which I taped just for the hell of it) and two are free draw (the one on the bottom is free draw). And I colored it with colored pencils! :anime:

While your drawing of the human characters could use some work (Dawn looks like a man), the Pokemon look pretty good.

Another Lucario. It looks really good if I say so myself.

Its cool to see that you are so inspired by Pokemon, something I can relate to somewhat. I recall the days I would draw off Pokemon cards :p But yeah, anyways!
You got some cool ideas down, and you have some great ground work down. Maybe pick up a few books on the human body (or even the anime "human body") or look around online and try - I don't wanna say copy, but kinda mimic they way things flow.
But no, besides that I really do like the force you have going behind your art. And you keep brining more out and thats really what anyone needs is practice.

Thanks a lot. I am thinking about picking up a book at the libary on how to draw anime people.
I also remember when I copied some Pokemon cards... and I looked at one of those from close to 9 years ago about a week ago, and WOW are they bad. :p

Well, I haven't posted in quite a long time, jsut becuase I haven't been able to scan any picture at college. But since I home for fall break I took the oppurtitunity to scan a few picutres.
This is probably the best picture I've drawn over the past few months (and I ahven't drawn a whole lot :p ).
The two on the right were traces, then i drew the two on the left free hand. yey, it came out really good IMO.

wow..takes me back to the late 90s-millenium when I watched the series.
The background water-color like artwork was like a zen garden, calmed me down.
I like your stuff. Looks like something for a child's coloring book.
Pokemon are neat....Ash looks taller than I remember.

This one is me and Umbreon. Umbreon looks really good, but I kind of messed up my shoes... oh well. It still looks pretty cool.

I'll take some of the model sheets. :) I need help learning how to draw Ash and Misty right, but I can't construct the characters bodies right.
