Just wondering, but what exactly is the point in keeping Moderators who never show up anymore...as Moderators? Or even the ones that show up maybe once a month, if that. They aren't really doing anything Moderator-esque, so why keep them at said status?
Oh. And any chance we can have the Inbox of members increased? I know Mods have a limit of like 500, but I like to keep majority of mine for my own records and such, so any chance of this ever happening?

The mods will have their reasons for doing what they do and if you are not careful they will begin to think you are trying to ask to be a moderator.

Well if you've noticed, there were quite a few inactive mods removed lately. Just look at the CN forum for proof of that.

Be careful of what? I could careless what they think I am *trying* to do.

And I see that now Speedy, but why just in that forum? Why not go through them all and do it?

I'm just saying they might think you're trying to ask to be a mod, it happens.

He's not asking to be a mod so he can have 500 messages in his inbox, he's asking for MEMBERS to have that many.
What happens if a mod has over 100 messages, then is unmodded? Will they keep the most recent 100, or will they keep the excess messages, or what?

Well, yes I know that. I'm just being paranoid (that happens when your cat won't let you sleep). :p
Where are people getting this "500 messages" thing? Mods have a lot less than that. A LOT less.

Just in case you didn't know, there IS a function with which you can archive your PMs onto your hard drive in a variety of formats, so you can always do that if you need to make space in your inbox but still want to have copies of your old PMs. That's what I do whenever my inbox starts getting full.

Interesting. What is the Max?
More than 1; less than 500 :)

Interesting. What is the Max?
Admins: 7000
Super Mods: 500
Reporters/Mods: 250
Registered: 100
Admins are only set that high because of me. I find that anything less than 1,000 and they'll start bouncing back before I can get to responding, sorting and deleting to them. I never actually hit 7,000, but enough of the PMs I receive are critical to the operation of the site and I need to make sure I get them.
I'll consider upping the max # of PMs next time we move servers. I don't know that I'll do it, but I'll give it some thought. PMs aren't really intended to replace e-mail and allowing more PMs for the largest user group just increases the size of the database making backing up, restoring and moving take even longer.

Nani? I didn't know I could have 250 PMs!

Due to an oversight, Reporters did not until about 10 minutes ago. My apologies to them. The user group was set up many moons ago. I noticed it while I was checking to answer Zechs' question. Fixed now.

Neat, now if I could only bug you to allow more posts to be displayed per page (I'm on 60 per page now but I'd love to be able to fit more per page). :) ;)

Fixed now.Thanks. I've been resorting to cleaning out my mailbox and not keeping copies of sent PMs to keep under my 100 limit lately, but this will really help out.

Wow, that's pretty many. I can't even imange having that many PM's. I don't even think I've got 50, and I've saved all of mine to this date.

That limit used to be lower, until I got annoyed that one time, years ago, when I actually read every thread on the site...

Up until like...last night I bhad like 102 or something. I felt special. Often I go to 100 within a week or so, due to my fan...er...hate mail I get, so it becomes troublesome that I have to delete them but oh wellz. Thanks for the explanation on that Harley.
Edit: Lol. Who knew my complaining would actually get something accomplished...darn you reporters!

And I've actually had to go through and delete some. Mafia and Jeopardy both racked up a lot of PMs, nevermind Cafe and Adult Swim modding complaints and notices. I need all the space I can get.
