What exactly are his powers in TAS?
Can he fly? How strong is he? Just some simple questions for a fanfic.

Hmm, let's see what I can remember. He's powered by a piece of kryptonite in his chest, which has a panel that opens up to reveal the kryptonite and weaken Superman. He can also focus it into laser form from his chest or his eyes. His skin is made from metallo, as well as his metallic skeleton, so if he's in an explosion his skin should be fine, of course he can rip it off himself. Besides being very strong, strong enough to put up a good fight with Superman even without the kryptonite, he can jump pretty high, but not fly. He can't swim, so if he falls in a deep body of water, he's pretty much stuck, which is how he was beaten in his first appearance, since the metallo makes him too heavy to float. I'm also pretty sure that if you get rid of the kryptonite he shuts down. Anyone can feel free to correct me since I'm not positive about all this. I'm also pretty sure there's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I hope this helped.
EDIT: Just thought I'd add that he can also turn his head 360 degrees.

While he lacks the ability to feel, taste, and smell, he has super strength that rivals that of Superman. He has a kryptonite heart which he can focus into a kryptonite laser that shoots from his chest.
Well, it looks like The Dark Knight has undercut my post. I'll have to exact my revenge years from now. Ahhh, such a hassle.

I haven't seen a Superman episode for a long time, so I'm not 100% sure of my facts, but as far as I can remember, TNSA Metallo...
Could NOT fly...however, he could jump great heights and long distances.
Possessed strength about equal to Superman's.
And of course, he had his kryptonite heart. Somehow, he was able to focus the radiation and project it in a single direction, sometimes out of his eyes and sometimes through a hole in his chest normally covered by a retracting panel.
TNSA Metallo also possessed a big mouth, a bad attitude, and an apparently inexhaustible ability to hold grudges, but I'm not sure those could be considered "powers". ;)
For a pretty decent bio of Metallo, you can check out www.batman-superman.com (http://www.batman-superman.com/superman/cmp/index.html). I couldn't make the link take you to Metallo's bio, so just click on Villains, then Metallo.
Hope that helps! :)

Hi! I thought that I'd toss in my two bits as well...
Remember: he's in a robot body, so he can be altered for a story. You want him to fly? Give him a retractable jet pack or something.
Also, he doesn't have to wear that ragged John Corbin skin. My favorite appearance of his was Action Figures, where he was in full-on Terminator mode.
You can take or leave all this stuff if you want. Just some suggestions.

My fav. appearance of Metallo was in a comic from 95, where he had a new, huge body, and kept mouthin' off at Supes', because as long as he was touching the ground, Superman couldn't hurt him. Finally, Big-blue caught him in midair, and whacked off that dumb ol' metal head of his. It ended with somebody from the mall that they were just fighting in saying "Who wants to play some soccer?" and Metallo's head whimpering"EEEP!" :)

I never understood why they kept the ragged skin. He looked cooler as just the robot skeleton.

Me too. I always assumed it was a "Two-Face" thing--showing off his dicotomy--but I always thought he just looked tacky after The Way of All Flesh (when it fit into the story) and Action Figures (when he lost it).
