This show is mess up, I was watching a espiode the other day. It when pebbles was trying to take a picture to win some contest. So anyways there was parts when pebbles and the gang trying take a picture of a hermit it was a big musclure lookin man and pebbles took a pic and he ate her camera and he wanted more chasing after them. Another part when pebbles took a picture some people robbing a bank and they started chasing after her and bamm-bamm do you see what im gettin at?

If Bamm-Bamm can lift a full grown man over his head when hes a baby how come he cant defend his against guys his size as a teenager in the show

I guess you can't question holes in a cartoon script. Go fig.

My guess:

Real-life reasons: The trend against violence in cartoons in the early 70s probably put a damper on Bamm-Bamm body-slamming people as a teenager. That, and a baby body-slamming people = funny; a 16-year-old doing it, especially in the Flintstones' world (where strong-men were pretty commonplace---see any original serires episode with a football team or bodyguard showing up), probably isn't as funny. I also imagine teenaged/adult Bamm-Bamm's abilities are probably a dime a dozen in their world---otherwise Fred surely would've tried to cash in on Bamm-Bamm's abilities a long time ago ("Sorry pal, but this kid's the *fifth* kid-who-can-lift-a-car act we've had this week and it's only Tuesday. Now beat it--- Johnny Cavern and Ed McMarble don't let just anyone on their show...").

Yeah you probably right but its just weird to see a kid that is strong as superman, runs whens he gets theaten by an average look dude.

Bam Bam was obviously raised not to use his strength to harm people. He's probably like Superman: He has to EXTREMELY careful and always watch what he's doing, or else he'll end up killing someone.

By the time he's 16, he's got it driven into his head that he CAN kill if he doesn't keep his strength/anger in check, so he runs away because he knows that they'll get out of their situations withouth him having to resort to violence.

That, and the whole 'FCC' angle.

I always thought HB would have had a great teen hero crew assembled from their various series in the 70's: Bam Bam (Strength), a teenage Elroy Jetson (intellect), Johnny Quest (leadership), Jayna (whoever Space Ghost's teen female was), and a few others.

I could imagine (adding to the "why he doesn't use his strength more often as a teen" theory) a grade-school-aged Pebbles trying to encourage Bamm-Bamm to become a (Stone Aged) Superboy---maybe spurred after resident hero Captain Caveman--- only to see things end disastrously (in an amusing Flintstones style of course), and maybe Cavey telling young Bamm-Bamm to encourage him to keep his strength in check for awhile/that he needed more practice using it...

I also recall that Bamm-Bamm played football in many of the teenaged-PABB show episodes, suggesting either his strength is in check (for any of the reasons above), or (per the original series' various Fred-tries-to-play-football-on-a-team episodes) the other football players probably *also* can rip cars in half on a whim (being the Stone Age, guessing brute strength isn't uncommon), thus keeping everything on an even level and letting Bamm-Bamm play football on an even basis... :-)

Ya, I was there for the Saturday AM premier of P & BB. I remember, because I was in the Army at the time, watching it in a rec-room. Try that when you're in the military!. Anyway, I thought it was OK thru the first few episodes, then when the novelty of seeing a revival of the Flintstones wore off, the lower production qualities and (as metioned before) the lame stories started to stand out. A real "Wowsie, Wowsie, Woo-Woo".

Now then. Any comments on the performances of "The Bedrock Rockers"??

Space Ghost's sidekicks were Jan and Jace. Jayna and Zan were the Wonder Twins on the various SuperFriends series. You could include the guys and some other girls like teenage Pebbles, Judy Jetson, and Teen Angel Taffy (all for seductive beauty), as well as Velma and Teen Angel Dee Dee (brainy girls), Daphne and Teen Angel Brenda (as damsels in distress), Josie and the Pussycats (for music numbers), and even Alexandra (as the conniving schemer willing use dirty tactics the others wouldn't consider).

What really can you say about the Bedrock Rockers? They were a product of their time; back in the 70's, just about every cartoon character was in a rock band.

Although technically, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm and their friends didn't form the Bedrock Rockers during the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm show; the BRs first showed up on The Flintstones Comedy Hour, which came a year later in 1972.
