Sorry you feel that way. Sometimes there comes a time when one feels the need to go other places, and if something isn't bringing you pleasure - whatever the reason - it's time to leave.
Nice to say farewell rather than just disappearing.
Good luck mate.

Joker, I hardly knew ya. No, really. Well, if you've been here for 10 months, and are just now leaving, I guess you're one of the strong ones. Some people don't last past their 3rd post.
Seeya around, and come back if the real world gets too scary!

I thought about leaving once (JUST ONCE!!!!), but there are still lots of people here that I enjoy being around .....If I leave it won't be for a long, long, long, long, long ......you get the point. :D

Here's winking at you. Once in awhile people just need to express their feelings. I'm glad you said what was on your mind. I'll see ya when I see ya.

If you don't like it, then leave. Act maturely and leave without saying a word.
Of course thats not what you do. You revert to bashing everyone else, saying people act like 12 year olds when you yourself are acting like someone more immature than that.
You want 'nonscensical dribble'? Try this thread. Especially because your type, the type who post these ridiculous 'goodbye' threads tend to never really leave at all, coming back in a mere few weeks, or lying the whole time in order to get sympathy. I know some people will see beyond your post and simply say "goodbye and good luck", but I for one am not gonna stand back and do nothing while you bash my fellow board members. Good riddance. We don't need someone acting like this here.

I know some other long timers who tell me they don't feel the boards are quite the same anymore. It's always sad to see these people go.

Wooo, um, calm down there pal. If "your fellow board members" are offended then let THEM say it. I see your post as being rude and unkind... If joker wanted to make this thread that was his choice, (good bad or indifferent).

Well when I see one who essentially says "You're all 12 year olds and because you post nonscensical dribble, I'm leaving, nyah nyah!" I see that as rude and unkind.
If you're gonna leave, then leave. No need to make a big deal out of it and start bashing everyone.

Sheamon, is there really anything wrong with him speaking his mind? You were 100 times more offensive then him. You're whining about him whining. .....that doesn't add up!
IMO, he acted more mature then you. He said his peace, and didn't cause a fight...

If you guys would rather praise the one who's bashing you, then fine. I'll retire from this thread.

Well, let's drop the whole thing...at this point it's just getting sillier and sillier.
Joker, I'll miss ya. But you might want to at least lurk around with the board split coming up. I think it might solve some of the problems you have with the board.

Well, actually, since a guy like Sheamon came out and construed Joker's post as insulting, Joker DID, in fact, cause a fight.
As for speaking his mind, Joker did indeed do that. But when you speak your mind, you gotta be prepared for some response.
Now, I wouldn't have been quite as blunt as Sheamon...LOL...but I too construed the thread as something akin to "You guys don't amuse me anymore, and your topics suck. I'm outta here." There are other ways to say goodbye than to call members young and immature (actually, I don't mind being called immature...I revel in it! :D ) and to slag on their topics.

I must admit I admire a clean break from something - there has been several times I've thought about leaving the board - not because I think it's drivel as such, but the threads just weren't interesting me.
I think it's less that the threads become less interesting, just that they become familiar (I know that tea and coffee one has been around before!).
In which case, leave, or, as I do, put up and shut up. If the thread does not interest me I don't reply. yes, it means I post less, but that's the sad fact about forums - you do eventually get tired of them. Rarely it's the forum, often it's just yourself.
It's easier to blame the forum though... yeah, you're all useless, trust me... ;)

Yeah, Jim closed the thread, and thank goodness, but this is the place to come in and make a point.
One thing the Toon Zone boards have always had (and had back when Jim hosted them himself, before the merger with Toon Zone) is a strong sense of community. People don't just leave, they actually feel like saying goodbye. Any long-time member will recognize joker's desire to wave farewell, and would have felt disappointed not to get it.
Of course, joker says some harsh things. But they weren't specifically directed at named individuals, but at the boards as a whole. If you feel insulted, it's probably because he's talking about you, and that doesn't say much for you.
I'm very sorry that joker feels that way. But, to tell the truth, I'm not surprised. This board in particular has changed, given the influx of new people, and not all the changes have been for the better.
The fact is this board has gotten too big. There are still lots of good and interesting posts, but they are getting lost in the sheer volume of stuff. That's one reason we are splitting AniGen, so that the good stuff that our old posters look for and value doesn't get totally lost.
Another effect of the size is that this board has gotten too big to moderate effectively. You see it here, where a flame war broke out before a mod could properly attend to it.
You want to know why joker decided to leave, and had some hard things to say on his way out the door? Look at this thread.
You want to know why we are making changes around here? Look at this thread.
You want to see the kind of behavior we're going to come down hard on, starting before the week is out? Look at this thread.
