I was wondering did The Cartoon Network Bug get Smaller.

it's certainly more transparent, and it does look slightly smaller.

Bug? Is that slang for the logo?

Jeez... it's not slang. It's the terminology that people use when they want to refer to a network's identity ("logo") as placed in a corner of the screen.

I noticed that it is more tranparent. I was watching some recordings from a couple years ago and it was so opaque

Maybe this change is a metaphor for the old CN fading away...

Can't they just say NL for "Network Logo" then?

Yeah, it has gotten smaller, and it's so transprent that a brealy notice it anymore. Makes the jokes in one of the Chowder episodes kinds obsolete now.

Yeah...it's really nice now. No more obnoxious giant logo. Hooray! :anime:

Does it really matter when they still have annoying promos take up a third of the screen every few minutes?

Well, those seem to be less obnoxious (and smaller) now than they have been in the past.

"Slang" is equal to "The short term" or "Alternate term" as in the word "bumps" is slang for "bumpers" or "Cell Phone" to "Cellular Phone". Jeez Louise, the word slang came out before "gangstas" started using it, so why does everyone have a problem with it? I'm not trying to be mean but sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask a parent or teacher what a word means instead of thinking of people who use it accessively.

No, It would be almost impossible to notice if that were so.

What joke was that?

What joke was that?

In the previous episode of Chowder, the CN logo was put into the episode as a joke.

Yeah, and know with this new bug, the joke will make no sense to future generations of Cartoon Network viewers.

Actually, the episode put in another bug, so the joke won't be lost.

I guess it was easy for CN to edit the episode like they did with those OOJH episodes. :)

You know how I know?

For one, I knew what a bug was.

Can't they just say NL for "Network Logo" then? They might if people hadn't been using the term "bug" for such a long time.

I guess why the bug is smaller. Because, the Network is starting to broadcast in HD. I think.

I have no grasp of the English language because I didn't know what the sla... nickname for a tv logo was? Maybe just maybe I've never heard people use that before.

Back on topic: I think CN is putting their logo through a transitional phase. I think they're going to give it another shape and color but slowly. Soon a new movie or series will premiere and the logo will change but most of us won't notice because of the event. A day or two later everyone will be buzzing about it. I'm going to miss the old black & white logo. :crying:

I like the blue and white logo.

I don't know what to make of it. When I was watching 'One Piece' I could barely see it at times. It's not as obstructive as the old logo but it definitely smacks of a transitional phase.

At leasted they cared enough to make it small and not get in the way.

Guys, please, no more discussion of what's slang and what isn't, and put this thread back where it's supposed to be about.

On one hand it's kinda cool, it doesn't take up much room since it's small and it doesn't block much since it's transparent.

On my screen, because of the overscan it gets cut off slightly... Was a little annoying when I watching One Piece last night. On the other hand, the logo being transparent is nice. Isn't so distracting.

Ours has always been small.

Honestly, though, I think the network needs a totally new logo, ditching even the checkerboard motif. It's old now.

When I think about it, you're right. The old logo wasn't classic enough to not be forgotten about eventually, while the new logo just wasn't progressive enough.

If TBS and TNT can change their looks entirely, then why not Cartoon Network?
