I've been playing a lot of Dead Rising after just getting it for Christmas, but I'm running into some trouble. I'm currently on case 4-2, which is a boss fight against Isabela outside of the grocery store where she's riding a motorcycle. I can defeat her no problem. Thing is, every time I defeat her I get a cutscene of her driving away and then all my remaining cases become expired. What am I doing wrong? Am I not supposed to defeat her?

How long dose it take for you to take her down? If memory serves me right, if you take too long in the fight she'll just drive off afterwards (don't quote me on this though). Another thing is you only have one hour (in game) to get to Seon's Groceries where she is when you get the case, so don't dilly dally.

I thought it best to get a firearm and take her out from the high ground. Or at least arm yourself with a katana or something for massive damage.

I've been using the mini-chainsaw to take her out and it works just fine to take her out pretty fast. My problem is after beating her, all cases expire. The case I have right now is in the red, I admit, but I'm defeating her when I still have a little bit of time left, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I really don't want to have to start the whole damn game over again, but if this keeps up I might not have a choice.

Your going to have to start all over again. Anytime your cases expire its because your not doing it within the right time limit in order to keep the story moving. And yes you do need to defeat her, but the cutscene you see when you bear her isn't her driving away.

You'll have to beat her with a least 15 or so minutes until midnight, I believe.

It's pretty tough to beat Dead Rising without needing to restart at least once, at least if you want to rescue a decent number of people and buff your character high enough to easily take on later enemies. It's almost a built-in gameplay mechanic.

Mhm. I've had a slightly similar issue. Practically two thirds of Dead Rising is keeping track of time and events, so I suggest saving a separate file up to a relatively safe point as a back up.

Yeah, I had no choice but to restart the game. It was actually for the better as I was able to rescue a lot more survivors I couldn't save the first time and I'm already past the boss fight that was giving me problems. Thanks for your help everyone!
