I always read bits and pieces about what Paul Dini's doing now. But why isn't he working on JL and will he ever work with Bruce Timm again?

Thanks!

Currently (I think) he's working on a "Zatanna" comic that'll be in DC's more..uh..adult line (isn't "Vertigo" the name?). As for working with Timm again..who knows? :)

Rumours suggest Dini and Timm had a "falling out" when Warner Bros. ordered the cuts to "Return of the Joker" and they haven't gotten back together since. Keep in mind that those are rumours ...

Those are more than just rumors - Timm even acknowledgs is in the interview I did with him, but that's all I can say. He's currently working on his Jinble Belle property, in both comics and animated form. And as Bird_Boy mentioned, he'll be writing at least 12 issues of an upcoming Zatanna series for DC's Vertigo line.

It's really a shame- Dini and Timm were a fanstastic team... :(

Yeah, they were a great team, but it's not like you NEED both of them - there are plenty of creative people around. It'd be nice if they hooked up again, but I dunno if that's going to happen any time soon.

Well, we can always look forward to seeing the long-awaited "Harley and Ivy" miniseries...that is, if it ever comes out!

Hey, TimTwoFace, your avatar's awesome.

Zoddman: Thanks, I quite like it, too. I forget who drew it, but it was on the cover of BATMAN #572 - one of the final NML issues. :)

As for the Harley & Ivy mini, I don't really care IF that comes out (because aside from their first pairing, their adventures as a duo have been written sub-par-ly), but I suppose I'd take anything animated at this point.

It's been delayed, what, 2 or 3 years now? I've seen a few pics from the issues and it LOOKS cool enough, but why it hasn't been published yet, I don't know. DC Comics, it WOULD sell, ya know!

Try almost nine years. I was announced as a late 1993 release.

Are you serious? Man!

Well, they finally DID get down to drawing it, and since THAT report came out, it's been 2 or 3 years...but 9? Geez, what is this, THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN or something?

Paul Dini just has issues. Just look at like what he did with Harley in RTOJ because like he couldn't stand the thought of her dying in something he calls an "elseworlds" maybe Bruce is just afraid of him? Hmm

Yikes! It already says "Banned" next to Carly's name!

Well, it's looking less and less likely that this will happen, but if Paul Dini writes at least one JL episode I'll be a happy man.

Poison Carley has always been, ah, defensive and protective about Poison Ivy. Don't know what set off this particular rant in this thread.

But in another one she blew up all over the place and got herself banned.

True. And Paul Dini is really mad about it. Just because Timm chose an inker that doesn't have deadlines (Shane Glines)...
