It would be great, imagine his dialouge with the Flash or Batman.

My idea for Mxy on JL (Granted its my own dc/marvel hybrid JL but this works for the regular one too since it doesnt involve any marvel villains) would be to have Mxy plotting to torment superman as usual and we get the introduction of his annoying imp friend who wants to tag along on his 3rd dimensional exploits. This person (who bothers even Mxy) eventually follows him to the third dimension and finds his own superhero to torment. Donning the name "Bat-Mite" he challenges the Dark Knight to his own brand of utterly ridiculous nonsense. Mxy gets steamed that Bat-Mite is stealing his act so he challenges him to a duel in the middle of Metropolis. The two Imps lose control in the middle of their heated debate about which one has the stronger foe (the age old fanboy debate of Batman vs. Superman) and thier magic accidentally unleashes a powerful 5D creature upon the unsuspecting third dimension. So the JL has to enlist the help of the unstable imps to defeat it.

Having Mr. Mxyzptlk in an episode would be fine with me. They could have the Justice League travel into the Fifth Dimension and encounter all sorts of characters (Thunderbolt, Bat-Mite, Qwsp).

I actually PITCHED a Mxy story to the Justice League office in my last batch of pitches (dated 2/12/02). It was a wacky story where the JL do Superman a solid by taking on Mxy in his stead. And with 6 members (minus Supes), that would keep Mxy out of Superman's hair for a year and a half (since Mxy can only show up ONCE every THREE months). What would follow is 6 short stories in ONE issue, where each member of the JL takes care of Mxy in their own UNIQUE style.
(For example, John Stewart convinces Mxy that the Guardians of Oa want to make Mxy the Green Lantern of the 5th Dimension! Mxy is SO thrilled! But when they teach him the GL oath ("In brightest day, In blackest night..."), they slip the word "Kltpzyxm" in. I'm not gonna tell you any others, just in case we do the story some day. You wouldn't want me to ruin ALL the surprises, would you?).
Anyway-- they guys in the office liked (REALLY liked) another story better, so I'm writing up THAT one. Can't tell you what it is yet (as it is TOTALLY TOP SECRET). But it is VERY BIG, has some fun guest stars, AND an appearance by a VERY popular villain!
TTYL!
Dan
BTW-- Someone should ask me about the Superman/Mr. Mxyzptlk MUSICAL that I almost got to write for DC Interactive! Now THAT'S a story! The project was COMPLETELY approved by DC-- but was killed by the CGI animators who would've had to do all the work animating it for the web.

Ooh, I think I have an idea as to who the villain is, but I won't say another word.
Seeing Bats deal with Mxy would definitely be worth the money.
Superman/Mxyzptlk musical?

Wow, I'm extremely impressed by your idea. It would be not only a great comic book issue but a great tv episode too.

Oh, it was soooooo great the time Bats got rid of Mxy. Yes, Batman has already come face-to-face with Mr. Mxyzptlk. It was in Mark Millar's last issue of Superman Adventures (not including the Supergirl stock story), issue #41. There were 22 1-page stories by different artists, and all the stories were great. There were probably 4 or so Mxy stories, one with Supes in Gotham, and Mxy shows up. Oh, it was worth the $2 for that page, but it was a good book as a whole. All of Millar's SAs were great reads, I'd probably go as far as to say a great deal were better than Ultimate X-Men. .....but I've gone waaay off topic.
If there was an ep with Mxy, and they didn't get Gilber, I'd be plenty upset. He was born to play that part.

I think they should only change voices between Batman/Superman and Justice League when absoluetly necessary . They should try their best to get Gilbert Goddfried to come back for the voice of Mxy (forget it, I won't even try to spell it! :) ) in any way they can.
I wouldn't mind seeing Mxy appear on Justice League, as long as it's only a one-shot deal. (Two episodes as a two-parter, I mean.) Like on Batman/Superman, his two appearances were comical and cute, but if he had made more than two appearances, he would have gotten REAL old, REAL fast. Mxy is a rare corny character in an otherwise non-corny TV show. One appearance is OK; more than that would be too much.
Oh, and "Dan Slott": How on Earth do you pitch an idea to Justice League's creators? Do you just write up your ideas on Microsoft Word and put a letter in the mail, or what? Or... ARE you one of Justice League's creators?!? :)

Hi.
Squall asked, "Oh, and "Dan Slott": How on Earth do you pitch an idea to Justice League's creators? Do you just write up your ideas on Microsoft Word and put a letter in the mail, or what? Or... ARE you one of Justice League's creators?!? "
I'm one of the writers for DC's JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES comic. My first issue, #4, is out on the stands RIGHT NOW-- so what are you waiting for? Go! Pick it up! Read! Enjoy! Woo-Hoo! My next one is Issue #6 (out in April), and then it's a horribly long wait until you see me again in Issue #10 (in August)... but I'm sure you'll survive... somehow! :)
As far as format goes... I write them, line for line on the backs of old Fortune Cookie strips and send them to DC comics via carrier pigeons. (Like I'm going to tell you HOW I do it! Sheesh! I got enough competition as it is!) :) :) :)

Dan, I found a carrier pigeon outside my window with a bit of a fortune cookie strip wrapped around it's leg. It said: "Someone should ask me about the Superman/Mr. Mxyzptlk MUSICAL that I almost got to write for DC Interactive!"
So my question is, Would you tell us about the Superman/Mr. Mxyzptlk MUSICAL that you almost got to write for DC Interactive?

It was going to be a two part installment of The Warner Bros. website's "Mulitipath Adventures of Superman" (BTW: Did anybody out there see my 5 part Superman-and-Jimmy-on-Apokolips epic called "Soul Survivor"?)
It was called "Sing, Metropolis, Sing." I had written it BEFORE the musical episode of Buffy had aired-- but with the production time needed to produce it, it would have run WAYYYYYY later. The basic plot was that MXY shows up in Metropolis and zaps everybody so they're forced to sing, sing, SING! Now Superman can't just trick Mxy into SAYING "Kltpzyxm", he's got to trick him into SINGING IT!
Around 75% of the musical was written on 'spec' to show that I could pull it off. Now remember, these were webtoons, so you'd actually get to HEAR Superman, Lois, Jimmy, and cast SINGING! It was a hoot! Recently, Eddie Berganza took me out to lunch and had me sing some of it to his assistant Tom Pamler Jr. I'm such a ham, that I couldn't resist going through the entire score!
You think it's hard SAYING Mxyzptlk and Kltpzyxm... just try coming up with songs for them! :)
For your "viewing" pleasure, here's the Lois Lane love ballad. Lois sings it to Supes on the roof of the Daily Planet... after Mxy has humiliated him in a big singing/dance off on the streets of Metropolis. Lois sings this to the Man of Steel to boost his spirits and remind him that, in her book, he's #1....
EVERYTHING
LOIS: It's not the "S" on your chest, Clark
the cape, or the suit.
What makes you the best, Clark
is your attitude!
The inner-truth that's you!
LOIS: You can do everything!
Anything at all!
No matter what the future brings,
no job's too big or small
for Superman!
I know you can
do everything!
Everything!
You can do everything!
LOIS: Before your first "single bound," Clark
though don't ask me why
Before your feet left the ground, Clark
I knew you could fly!
You're just that kind of guy!
LOIS: Who can do everything!
Anything at all!
Though the battle's never-ending
you always heed the call!
Can't you see?
I believe!
You can do everything
Everything!
'Cause you're everything to me!
You're my everything.

I'm a fan of few musicals(Little Shop of Horrors,Rocky Horror,West Side Story) but I really like this. I'm actually picturing the melody. I'm also picturing Dana Delaney (or whoever voices Lois on the Multipath Adventures of Superman) singing it.

Mxy and Bat-Mite fought in "World's Funniest". That one funny book. They had almost every DC Universe even the Super Friends.

On a side note, Bat-Mite is like Batman's Mr.Mxyzptlk, Fred Flinstones, Great Gazoo etc... right? And is he/ was he in contiuity?

Hey everyone! Let's take Dan out for margaritas!
Actually, now that you bring it up, I wanted to ask about that song. (Sorry if it's answered back on the Warner Bros. site.) But why does Lois know that Clark is Superman? Is my continuity just way outta date? (I haven't followed Superman in donkey's years.)

Eep! No magaritas please... I appreciate the thought, but-- I'm sick as a dog! Margaritas would go straight from the pitcher, to my glass, to my gut, to the porcelain gods in RECORD time!
And, yep, Lois has know Clark is Superman for ages! It was important to the powers that be that Lois loved Clark for being Clark (instead of Supes) before they got hitched.

:o Serves me right for not paying attention. I knew the film and TV continuities almost always wound up doing the discovery bit, didn't realize the comics had succumbed as well.
Dang, sorry to hear it's actually a physical thing. I know when I'm blocked I get physically ill, just thought maybe it was the same thing with you. And that a little pick-me-up would help break the mood.

Anyhoo-- I'm just chomping at the bit to show you guys more stuff from the abandonned Superman/Mr.Mxyzptlk Musical...
This was one of my favorites, this is Mxy's big number...
5th Dimensional Imp (sung by Mr. Mxyzptlk and cast/ Clark's dialogue is spoken)
LOIS: What's going on, Clark?
We're all breaking out in song, Clark!
CLARK If I'm not mistaken, it looks like our friend
Mr. Mxyzptlk is up to his old tricks again....
LOIS: I can't understand a word you speak.
Your lips are moving, but it's coming out all Greek!
CLARK: Don't tell me this is part of his spell!
You can only understand me if I'm singing?
Oh boy! Well, I'll give it my best...
I've figured it out, Lois!
I know just who our foe is...
MXYZPTLK: Hey Supes, I'm back! Ain't that a kick?
LOIS: Oh no!
CLARK: Mr. Mxyzptlk!!!
MXYZPTLK: That's me!
MXYZPTLK: I'm the fifth dimensional imp- imp -imp -imp!
The original crimp in your side
Who can blow you up like a blimp with ease
And bang on your bellies like timpanis
While you're stuck in the symphonies
of this fifth dimensional IMP!
Oh, you may say "fiddlesticks"
they're all just little tricks
of light, or sleight of hand!
But no, I'm really slick,
Mr. Mxyzptlk,
with powers you can't understand!
Ho ho ho!
I'm the fifth dimensional imp- imp- imp- imp!
A magical, dimple-faced guy
Who'll make you look like a wimp with ease
When I turn all your friends into chimpanzees
And make you go all limp-at-the-knees
For this fifth dimensional imp!
CAST: Oooh Oooh Oooh Ahh Ahh <monkey sounds>
MXYZPTLK: Fifth dimensional imp
CAST: Go tell your mamma!
MXYZPTLK: Fifth dimensional
CAST: wholly unconventional
MXYZPTLK: Fifth di-men-sion- al IIIIIIIIIIMP!
That's me!
