Wind down from a big day of family, food, opening presents, etc. with ECW on Sci-Fi. Tonight, we look back at 2007, the new ECW's first full year of operation.

December 25, 2007

The last edition of ECW on Sci Fi in 2007 will look back on some of the greatest (and most extreme) moments from the past year.

Going into 2008, ECW Champion CM Punk’s title might as well be a golden target in the Land of the Extreme. As if Big Daddy V and Mark Henry didn’t add up to a big enough problem for the champion, Chavo Guerrero is now making efforts to knock Punk off of the pinnacle point in ECW. Thanks to United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter making room for him, Guerrero made sure the Straightedge Superstar wouldn’t go to bed without a headache. What further measures will this hungry competitor take to crash CM Punk’s party?

WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison’s luck may have run out. After weeks of success in combining their efforts, the duo fell to Shannon Moore & Jimmy Wang Yang on ECW on Sci Fi. Can they recover and get past their differences to keep hold of the gold or are their days as champions numbered?

Also on ECW, Shelton Benjamin tore through questionable competition – a man taking part in his first match. Is there something out there that can bring him down or is the self-proclaimed “Gold Standard” right when he claims there is no stopping him?

Tune into a very special edition of ECW on Sci Fi on Tuesday at 10/9 CT and relive memorable moments from 2007. And find out the answers to all of these questions and more the following week when the Superstars return to the ring.

Also, be sure to catch ECW in its entirety every week on WWE.com (http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/ecwreplay/), available from Wednesday to the following Monday afternoon.

Its very interesting to see that 5/9 of the New Breed/ECW Originals are no longer with the company now. A shame since that was one of the highlights of the ECW calendar year. Shows how certain parts of that feud were rushed and as a result it was a bit disappointing (Heel Punk)

Uh, let's see. Sandman, Sabu, RVD, & Cor Van are all gone, plus Ariel (now in TNA with her pretty face completely covered---curse you, Vince Russo!). Yep, 5 out of 9.

1 hr. just wasn't enough for a year-end retrospective. Nice bit of continuity with Tazz & Joey at the end, carrying over from last year.

I agree that 1 hour wasn't enough, but I do think they got the best highlights of the year in considering the time restrictions. I could have cared less about the Bobby Lashley/ Vince McMahon storyline though and would have enjoyed it more had they not spent 1/5 of the show in that one feud.

They pretty much covered everything, but one hour is not a lot of time to give any event too much coverage. I liked revisiting the Originals-New Breed feud and liked having most of the Extreme Rules match on there. Ditto for the Survivor Series Triple Threat match.

The Superstar videos used were the right ones for ECW although even with his recent appearances, I thought the Kane one was a bit much.

I was a bit perturbed by the clip of Johnny Nitro winning the ECW Title at Vengeance. I couldn't believe someone thought it necessary to dub in "John Morrison" for the ring announcement. Such an unneeded change.

Agreed. His old music (Melina's theme) played when he won, and that wasn't edited. I guess they want you to forget that he transitioned out of his old gimmick to his new one after winning the title. He got my vote for most improved wrestler, largely because of 1) the new gimmick, and 2) an improved moveset. Now, maybe in '08 he turns face after he & Mizizzle lose the tag titles......

If only they could explain the continued absence of Armando Estrada.

I think there's a few issues surrounding the Nitro/Morrison title win at Vengeace the WWE would like to forget.
