Just wanted to thank everyone for the birthday wishes! :) I spent last night with my dad and his girlfriend; every year we go to her friend's house for Christmas Eve dinner. They always have a tacky gift exchange - this year we had to bring something tacky to wear along with a gift certificate. It was a lot of fun. I ended up with a colourful granny dress and a $20 gift card for Chapters (book store).

For my birthday, Dad gave me a $50 gift card for Zellers and The Bay (Canadian department stores). "Santa" also made a visit for the kids, and I got a small sack of candy, fruit, and nuts.

At my age now, I usually get money from relatives, and perhaps a few clothes if they find things they think I'll wear. But in the past, I've received some nice "combination" birthday/Christmas presents, such as a stereo when I was a teen, and my computer (which I still use) about 10 years ago. :)
