Do you like her introduction and origin in the comics...

...Introduced as the cat then reveals her origin to her father as a well trained cat burglar

Or in Spiderman:tas?

...Three seasons for the rich and lonely child who lives with her mother then she gets a dose of the modified super serum by Langdon, Herbert and united with her long time unseen hardly known father

didn't the TAS have some combo of both? She lived with her rich mother and get a serum and we see an episode who show her father who was a former burglar (I don't remember if he was a cat-burglar or some sort of gentleman-thief a la Arsene Lupin in the TAS).

Loose trivia: I think her father was based on The Cat from Amazing Spider-Man #30, but in the comics he was a one-time thief that had no relation to Felicia whatsoever.

I liked the fact that Black Cat eventually made her way into the series, but hated how the Super Soldier Serum was the cause of it. It just felt too campy, especially when she transformed.

Not that Bad Luck Powers are any better, but at least they got rid of that as the years went by. I did like how they gave her suit modifications like the infra-red contact lenses and retractable claws, since she's a cat burglar and should just rely on tools, not super-powers.

I loved the thing about her having a dose of improved super serum with her fathers photo scan memory better, it fit's better for the powerful super heroine than a simply well trained with no super powers except the later coming bad luck powers

I liked the TAS version better than the comic one. Bad luck powers are just stupid when used (the subtle well done use in Ultimate spider-man not withstanding).

The super solider serum doesn't sound much better but the way they used it was great. It made sense that Kingpin would test it out on The Cat's daughter just in case he'd done a double-cross. The shapeshifting identities was good and Peter (and everyone else) doesn't look like an idiot for not guessing who the Black Cat is with the log distinguishing white hair and paper thin mask.

He appeared that early? I remember reading a story from the late 80's/early 90's with The Cat - it took place in Washington I believe, as Peter Parker was promoting his Webs book. The Prowler was also featured - I remember it because Todd McFarcline draws an awesome Prowler, it's very reminisant of his later Spawn design. Guess you do learn something everyday...

That was actually the Black Fox, who was used in a few Amazing Spider-Man issues in the eighties.

I admit I don't know much about Black Cat. But I hope she's not supposed to be a thief character, because then honestly, the only difference between her and Catwoman would be a pair of Spandex. What's the difference?

Never looked at it this way. You do have a point there though.

Well Black Cat made a decision to quit being a thief quite awhile back and has stuck to it being quite the hero. Catwoman has been up and down like DC's continuity.

The Black Cat is Marvel's version of Catwoman. How many unique heroes can there be anyway. I prefer the comic backstory of The Black Cat.

I liked the TAS version as well, as the Black Cat here was slightly taller than Felicia Hardy and also had superior strength. I remember one episode Spider-Man told her to stand back while he prepared to break down a heavy steel door, but Cat stepped past him and busted through herself, making Spidey rethink his chauvinistic ways of superwomen being the weaker sex. I also liked her interaction with Captain America in the Secret Wars. Loved how she rubs it in when she says "Anything you can do, I can do, too, if not better!" ;) But of course, Cap proved to be better when Cat was endangered at least a couple of times. First when she nearly fell into the lava, then when she was captured by the Red Skull and Spidey had to save her both times.

I do agree a superpower of bad luck is a bit lame. That would only seem to work with the Scarlet Witch, particularly in X-Men: Evolution as her mutant power was able to affect the other mutants' powers, turning them against themselves and each other.
