CAPTAIN AMERICA #36
FANTASTIC FOUR #555
PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #17
PUNISHER #55
garth ennis ends his run on the punisher :crying:. i will never pick up any new punisher comic again (unless frank is put in a hillarious/un-punisher like situation). there is no writer who can top this landmark run. they should just cancel the max series when this arc concludes. i can't think of any writer that would be capable of following ennis footsteps. i'd still ignore the title even if "big names" like bendis, straczynski, whedon, ect were going to be the next writer. the only way i could see myself continuing with the punisher is if neil gaiman or ed brubaker became the new writers.

garth ennis ends his run on the punisher :crying:.
And there was much weeping throughout the land. :(
At least we get one more arc out of him, (I though that the current arc, "Long, Cold, Dark" was going to be his last arc). As for whether I'll be picking it up after Ennis leaves, it truly depends on who the next writer is, (it'd have to be like Brubaker replacing Bendis on Daredevil - which actually improved the book). In other words, the style would have to be similar, and told in a manner that exceeds or at least equals Ennis' book. I can't stand Punisher War Journal, (aka "mainstream Marvel Universe Punisher")...this may be the last time I collect Frank Castle.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #552-554
HULK #3 - Still can't wait for Red Hulk!
AMAZING SPIDER-GIRL #18 - Spider-Girl / Hobgoblin team-up? Cool.
MIGHTY AVENGERS #10
NEW AVENGERS #39
ULTIMATES 3 #4
THOR #8 - Once again, only if I like the current story arc after it is all over.
THUNDERBOLTS #120 - Sounds like the ingredients for a perfect thriller ;)
DAREDEVIL #106
MIGHTY AVENGERS #11 - TWO issues of this book in ONE month... it's usually the other way around!! My eyes must be deceiving me :p
SPIDER-MAN: WITH GREAT POWER... #3
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #120
BTW:
- The Ms. Marvel cover (http://marvel.com/comics/onsale/covers/0308/MSMARVEL025.jpg) is cool!

Amazing Spider-Man #552, 553, 554
Cable #1: Not sure if I'll stick with this, but I'll at least check the book out. Cable can be a good character, when handled properly.
Hulk #3
Logan #1: Do we really need 3 Wolverine books, though? But BKV's name is on it, which makes it an instant buy.
Mythos: Captain America #1
Secret Invasion Saga #1: It's free, so there's nothing to lose here.
Uncanny X-Men #496
X-Force #2: I'm hoping Yost and Kyle can make this book good, but the 'X-Force' title doesn't exactly have a winning history.
Amazing Spider-Girl #18
Fantastic Four #555
Mighty Avengers #10, 11
New Avengers #39: I think that Marvel is kind of trying to push more hype on this 'Secret Invasion' than it really merits. They should have learned from DC's 'Amazons Attack'. Still, the New Avengers stories have been good so far, so I'm not complaining.
The Last Defenders #1: Joe Casey. Steve McNiven. Colossus. Sounds like a winning recipe to me.
X-Factor #29
Captain America #36: Brubaker has been dynamite so far, and he keeps getting better.
Incredible Hercules #115
Thor #8: I've liked JMS's work so far.
Avengers: The Initiative #11
Spider-Man: With Great Power... #3: Depends on how the first issue impresses me.
Wolverine: First Class #1: Sounds neat.
X-Men: First Class #10
X-Men Legacy #209
Young Avengers Presents #3
Looks like a fairly nice month to me, from Marvel's end.

Wolverine: First Class looks really promising but I am really surprised to see that Marvel is releasing a collection for X-Men: The Twelve. I only picked up a couple issues of it but I have to admit that I'm really tempted to get it. It seemed like it was one of their better crossovers. That Iron Man & Dr. Doom HC also looks very tempting.

I almost wish they'd just cancel Punisher MAX after Ennis leaves. His take on the character was absolutely perfect. Everything clicked. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job than Ennis and I don't want to see someone drag the title through the mud just like War Journal. Let the book go out on top.

I suspect that plans shifted, since Terry Moore is going to be writing SM Loves MJ and Runaways, and also has a project of his own, too. I'm totally willing to wait, though.
My comments (courtesy of CBR (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12606), which has creative team info, although not without cost that I rant about):
- re: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #552: They're not actually making a joke about the whole "MJ laundry" statuette in the solicitations, there, are they?
- Arthur Adams rules so much it hurts (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/marvelcomics/200803/AVENCLASS010.jpg).
- That's a gloriously cute cover to Avengers Fairy Tales (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/marvelcomics/200803/AVNFT001.jpg), but I was bitterly disappointed by most of X-Men Fairy Tales and haven't bothered to check Spidey Fairy Tales. Are these things really selling that well, or does C.B. Cebulski have naked photos of Dan Buckley or something?
- Really cool cover to Annihilation: Conquest #5 (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/marvelcomics/200803/ANNCON005.jpg).
- Apropos of nothing, I really, really, really detest IntelliText advertising. I don't really want to find out about trip planning just by mousing over a word when I'm in the middle of reading comic book solicitations for Captain Marvel. One of these days, I'm gonna figure out how to bypass that stupid thing and never see that crap again.
- re: FF #555. Are they sure they should be soliciting a Millar/Hitch book just one month after the previous one? Lucky thing I can find out about house mortgages or whatever other stupid-ass ad is in there!
- re: Daredevil #106. At least someone at Marvel seems to have been listening to people who got mad at spoilers in the solicitation text.
- Say what you will about recent revelations about Ghost Rider, but this solicitation text makes me laugh in a good way, as does the cover (http://images.comicbookresources.com/solicits/marvelcomics/200803/sm/GRIDER021.jpg):
In a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, Johnny Blaze's quest for vengeance continues when he faces off with a group of nurses who are armed to the teeth and looking to violate their Hippocratic Oath six ways to Sunday.
- Did I mention how much Arthur Adams rules (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/marvelcomics/200803/HERC110.jpg)?
- Dagnabbit, they're gonna make me buy an issue of Marvel Adventures: FF, aren't they?
Ahh, Reed Richards. Ever absent-minded. When the Fantastic Four helps to raise money for a block renovation, Reed runs an "I'll fix anything!" booth, and in between putting booster rockets on mopeds and laser cannons in wristwatches, he sort of, you know, accidentally fixes the Mad Thinker's android. Oops. Now it's the Mad Thinker and his Awesome Android versus the Fantastic Four and some toasters. Yeah, I said toasters.
That sounds like too much fun for words. Plus: Awesome Andy, before he was really Awesome Andy, but still.
- That is an uncharacteristically ugly cover by Leonard Kirk (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/marvelcomics/200803/MARVADVNAVN022.jpg) for MA: Avengers, isn't it? Spider-Man looks like he was replaced by a slightly melted Stretch Armstrong painted in a Spidey suit.
- re: Cable. When Frank Miller suggested that Batman wore a target on his chest on purpose, I don't think this is what he had in mind at all (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/marvelcomics/200803/CABL001.jpg).
- re: X-Men First Class. I don't know who wrote the solicitation text, but I think I love that person.
- First Flight of the Phantom Eagle sounds more like a Garth Ennis war comic like War Stories and less like Adventures of the Rifle Brigade, so my interest is piqued. We'll see when the trade is solicited.
- Are they seriously soliciting the premiere HC of Ultimate Iron Man II in the same month as issue #4?
- I might grab that Iron Man & Dr. Doom: Doomquest TPB. I think I have one comic from there from a Marvel Legends figure.
- Probably also getting the Avengers: The Initiative TPB. Dan Slott == teh awesome.
Wow, for the whole month I have 2 pre-orders, both of which are pretty strong "maybe"s. Don't think Marvel's done that badly with me for a while.

Let's see, this month, I'll be getting:
Amazing Spider-Man #552-554
Annihilation: Conquest #5: Ed is right, that is one awesome cover. (http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/March08/anncon005.jpg)
Avengers: The Initiative #11: It's so obvious that "KIA" is actually "MVP".
Captain America #36: Still waiting to see who the new Captain America is...
Fantastic Four #555: You gotta love a solicitation that reads, "THE EARTH IS DOOMED!!!"
Daredevil #106
Ghost Rider #21: Oooh, this is gonna be fun!
Hulk #3
Incredible Hercules #115
WWH Aftersmash: Warbound #4
WWH Aftersmash: Damage Control
Iron Man #27: Still waiting to see why Iron Man's a wanted man in his own book, yet he's the Emperor of SHIELD in all other books...
Mighty Avengers #10 and 11: Oh no, Bendis and Time Travel do NOT mix well...
New Avengers #39: Ah yes, David Mack has returned to draw Echo!!
Nova #11: Covers by Maleev and interiors by Pelletier = Sweet!
She-Hulk #27
Thunderbolts #120
Young Avengers Presents #: C'mon, Heinberg, where the hell is Season 2 already?!?
Uncanny X-Men #496: Wow, I have no idea where this is heading...
X-Men: Legacy #209
Cable #1: I'm not sure how good this'll be, but I'm on board for the first few issues...I couldn't stand the Cable/Deadpool book, but that was mostly because of Deadpool...
X-Factor #29: Cool Cover. (http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/March08/xfact029.jpg)
X-Force #2: So I guess they really have cancelled New X-Men?!?
Wolverine #63
Wolverine: Origins #23
Logan #1: Brian K. Vaughan + Wolverine = MUST HAVE!!!
Punisher #55
War is Hell: First Flight of the Phantom Eagle #1: Not sure what this is all about, but it's Garth Ennis doing a war story, so it's worth picking up.
On the "maybe I'll get it, maybe I won't" list:
The Last Defenders #1: Umm, what the hell is this book about?!?
Kick Ass #2: We'll just "wait and see" about this...
